Nestled amid one of the most well-traveled blocks in Midtown, The Continental Club serves the broad music tastes of Houston, from rockabilly and classic soul to local indies and classic rock covers.
An offshoot of the timeless original venue in Austin, the bar-style concert space admits around 300 attendees, with a spacious back patio that connects into their sister bar, Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge.
Arriving early to The Continental Club can be rewarding for popular shows as the narrow standing area fills quickly and the venue can become packed (and more than a little warm) when must-see musicians swing through.
Advance tickets can be picked up at the nearby record shop, Sig’s Lagoon, right around the corner, but walk-up tickets are usually available the day of the show.
Bars can be found within a brief stroll of the surrounding blocks, as well as a handful of delicious restaurants, making for great pre- and post-show options.
Street parking can fill up quickly, but the garage along Travis Street, across from the nearby MATCH theater, can help alleviate the hunt for convenient parking. A MetroRail Red Line stop is also located directly across from The Continental Club making for a highly accessible concert experience.
