Home to Major League Baseball’s 2017 World Champions, the Houston Astros, this modern American ballpark, with classic design features, supplanted the historic Astrodome as the Astros’ home field in 2000.
While the Houston Astros take up much of the schedule at this landmark Downtown Houston venue, Minute Maid Park still finds time to squeeze in the occasional major concert event and other celebrations, with room for more than 40,000 fans.
Since 2000, Minute Maid Park (briefly named Enron Field from its debut until 2002) has provided one of the most atmospheric settings for baseball and concert events in Houston. From its playful arrangement of popular restaurants and concessions, to its glass-tiled retractable roof and stunning views of Downtown, Minute Maid Park offers a unique experience within Houston and among the nation’s ballparks.
When attending concerts at Minute Maid Park, you’ll know you’re in for a special event as the ballpark opens its grassy outfield to seating for only the biggest names. In years past, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, and The Eagles have graced the outfield for some of Houston’s most unforgettable concert experiences.
Situated on the northeastern corner of Downtown, Minute Maid Park is blocks away from Discovery Green and Avenida Houston, steakhouses, sports bars, and the MetroRail Red, Purple, and Green Lines, which provide access to more of Houston’s popular neighborhoods.
