On Montrose Boulevard, in a small courtyard that abuts the Freed Montrose Library, an enticing bright blue door peeking out from a vine-covered facade leads to one of the city’s most prestigious jazz clubs.
With two sets on Friday and Saturday nights, Cezanne offers a quite cozy upstairs space that allows up to fifty patrons to sit within mere feet of talented jazz players from Houston, as well as special appearances by guests on tour.
Swing through early to ensure you can grab a prime seat in the tight, low-ceilinged room and enjoy a selection from their menu featuring small food plates, wine, and cocktails.
Out front of the venue, make sure to take advantage of the small courtyard before or after a show and gather a few relaxing moments to unwind or play chess at the oversized board nearby.
Its prime location is also not far from the bustling Westheimer corridor, which offers many more restaurant and bar options within a short ride’s distance.
Admission to Cezanne is in the form of cover at the door plus one required drink order per ticket.
Parking is available in the small front lot off Montrose Boulevard or in the surrounding streets around St. Thomas University.
