• Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins at Minute Maid Park | Tuesday, August 23 to Thursday, August 25 – Beloved shortstop Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins swing through Houston for a three-day midweek series. All fans in attendance on Thursday night will go home with a Jose Altuve ALCS replica ring. $12 and up. 7pm.
• Closing Reception: Artists on Site Series 3 at Asia Society Texas Center | Thursday, August 25 | FREE – The third edition of this live studio series comes to a close, with featured artists Luisa Duarte, Ruhee Maknojia, Matt Manalo and Lanecia Rouse Tinsley presenting works they have been creating over the past six weeks. 6:30pm to 8pm.
• NFL Preseason: Houston Texans vs. San Francisco 49ers at NRG Stadium | Thursday, August 25 – The Niners come to town to close out NFL preseason ahead of Week 1 in mid-September. $54 and up. 7pm.
• Tycoon Houston Comedy Music Fest at Toyota Center | Thursday, August 25 – Rapper 50 Cent hosts a one-two punch of comedy and music performances in Downtown, featuring nine stand-up acts that include B-Simone, Bill Bellamy, Jess Hilarious, Gary Owen, and many others, in addition to appearances from Fetty Wap, Flo Rida, Rotimi and more. $49 and up. 8pm.
• 5 Years After Landfall: A Community Event in East End | Friday, August 26 | FREE – Air Alliance Houston, Houston Climate Justice Museum, and One Breath Partnership join for an evening event of community reflection on the past five years and the effects of Hurricane Harvey. Hear from dignitaries like Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee and City of Houston poet laureate Outspoken Bean, view art exhibitions, shop books from Brazos Bookstore, and enjoy complimentary beer from 8th Wonder. 6pm to 8:30pm.

• Lyle Lovett & His Large Band at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, August 27 – Houston-area native Lyle Lovett once again graces the stage in Sugar Land to perform classic country hits and songs from his first album in a decade, 12th of June. $59.59 and up. 7:30pm.
• Swedish House Mafia at Toyota Center | Saturday, August 27 – After releasing their first studio album since their reunion, house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia hits the road for their Paradise Again World Tour. $39.50 and up. 8pm.
• Black Chef Table featuring Chef Clinton Jackson at Kulture Restaurant | Saturday, August 27 – Another edition of the Black Chef Table series at Downtown’s Kulture near Discovery Green, this 6-course dinner is curated by Chef Clinton Jackson of CJ’s Masterpiece, and featuring courses like braised short ribs, jalapeno cornbread, Parmesan crusted lamb chops and more. “Sunday Best” attire recommended. $100. 8pm.
• The Spoiled Rotten Comedy Show at the Orange Show for Visionary Art | Saturday, August 27 – A new comedy show debuts at the mosaic-filled monument to the humble fruit, featuring sets from Julz Serrano, Kate Vance, Jessi Saldaña, George Brito, Victor Tran and Julie Talbert, hosted by artist Emily Peacock. $16. 8pm to 10pm.
• Bun B’s Trill Burgers Pop-Up at Houston City Hall | Sunday, August 28 – Fresh off a crowning of “Best Burger in America” by Good Morning America, Bun B’s smashburger pop-up comes to Houston City Hall for a Bun B Day celebration. Prices vary. 3pm to 7pm.
• 12th Annual Feast of Saint Arnold at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Sunday, August 28 – The 12th annual fundraiser for Texas Children’s Hospital returns to Saint Arnold with five courses of seafood, pork, poultry, beef and dessert, served family-style. $135. 5pm to 8pm.
