Top 12 Things To Do for Kids & Families in Houston This Month: November 2022

  • Night Market at Asia Society Texas | Friday, November 4 | FREE – This always-popular annual market returns to Asia Society, filling the indoor and outdoor spaces with local vendors, Bollywood and K-pop performances, a Diwali-inspired funfair, an Otaku Alley, a beer garden and food trucks, and more. 6pm to 10pm.
  • 2nd Annual Houston Día de los Muertos Parade & Festival at Sam Houston Park | Saturday, November 5 | FREE – After a successful inaugural parade in 2021, the Día de los Muertos festival returns to Downtown, offering an evening of live music, a parade procession from 7pm to 8pm, delicious concessions, arts and crafts, and more. Free to participate in the parade, but traditional attire—full of pageantry and beauty—is recommended. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Disney on Ice: Into the Magic at NRG Stadium | Thursday, November 10 to Sunday, November 13 – Celebrate the magic of courage, love and adventure with Disney characters like Belle, Miguel from Coco, Elsa from Frozen, and more when they take the ice at NRG Stadium. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • City of Houston’s Veterans Day Celebration at City Hall | Veteran’s Day, Friday, November 11 | FREE – The City of Houston pays tribute to the people of the military at the annual Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration. There will be a traditional Veterans Day ceremony with acknowledgments and a distinguished keynote speaker recognizing the local heroes, a moment of silence, and the American Heroes Parade. 10am.
  • HTX4Ukraine’s Borscht Cook-Off at Pokrova Ukrainian Church | Saturday, November 12 – HTX4Ukraine presents a cook-off event featuring one of the most famous Ukrainian dishes—borscht—in support of the people of Ukraine. Baked goods, drinks, and other Ukrainian delicacies will be available for purchase at the event. HTX4Ukraine is a volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives and supporting people in Ukraine in the time of the Russian war against the country. $10; includes a cup to sample each team’s borscht. Free for ages 12 and under. 11am to 3:30pm.
  • Children’s Festival: Under the Sea at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Saturday, November 12 & Sunday, November 13 – Enjoy a weekend of family fun that includes high-energy shows, hands-on activities, and adventures for all ages at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Don’t miss Octonauts Live!, a PJ Masks meet and greet, bounce house fun, and more. $10 per day; free for ages 2 and under. Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.

  • 40th Annual Lighting of the Doves at Town Green Park | Saturday, November 19 | FREE – Start the holiday season at this annual event in the Woodlands with balloon art, face painting, snow play areas and snow slides, live entertainment on two stages, and more. The Big Guy himself, Santa Claus will make an appearance, arriving by sleigh down the Woodlands Waterway to end the evening with a dazzling fireworks display. 3pm to 8pm.
  • Galveston Island Turkey Trot in Menard Park | Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24 The Galveston Island Turkey Trot features a flat, ocean-view course on the famous Galveston Island Seawall and welcomes both runners and walkers of all ages. The out-and-back 5K course ends with a post-race party at Menard Park. Costumes are welcome. The race supports HART, a nonprofit organization that promotes health and fitness on the Island and in the surrounding area. $40. 7:30am to 11am.
  • 73rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown | Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 24 | FREE – Houston’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will return to the heart of Downtown Houston, where thousands upon thousands of Houstonians will line the streets to cheer on participants. The parade will traverse over 20 city blocks and features elaborate floats, colorful marching bands, high-flying balloons and other uniquely Houston entries. 9am to 11am.
  • Peppa Pig Live: Peppa Pig’s Adventure at Bayou Music Center | Friday, November 25 – Featuring life-sized theatrical puppets performed live on stage, Peppa Pig’s Adventure sees the beloved Peppa taking an exciting camping trip in the woods with George and her school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. Along with Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends embark on a 60-minute live musical adventure, full of singing, dancing, games and surprises. $32 and up. 6:30pm.
  • Houston Symphony presents Disney’s Fantasia at Jones Hall | Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27 – The orchestra plays the lush, classical music–inspired score to Disney’s 1940 animated masterpiece while the movie plays on screen. $29 and up. Times vary.
  • Baby Shark Live! The Christmas Show at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, November 26 – The beloved children’s characters, Baby Shark and Pinkfong, come to life in a one-of-a-kind immersive experience going into the jungle and under the sea to explore shapes, colors, numbers and more. The show features hit songs, including “Baby Shark,” “Five Little Monkeys,” “Wheels On The Bus,” and “Monkey Banana Dance,” plus holiday classics like “Jingle Bells” and more. $39.50 and up. 2pm.
