  • High Noon Countdown at The Woodlands Children’s Museum | New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 – Bring the little ones to make New Year hats and enjoy performances from Tom’s Fun Band and Claude Sims the Juggler in Bubble Wrap at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. Included with general admission to the museum. 9am.
  • Noon Year’s Eve at CityCentre | New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 | FREE – Countdown to noon at CityCentre’s family-friendly New Year’s celebration. Enjoy DJs, face painting, a balloon and caricature artist, and capture the fun with Lucky Shots’ magic mirror photo booth. 11am to 1pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Family Celebration at Downtown Aquarium | New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 – Ring in the New Year at the Downtown Aquarium while enjoying fun kid’s activities including a kid’s balloon drop, dance, party, and appearances by Sharkey and Nero, plus other mascots. 11am to 5:30pm.
  • New Year, New Harbor at Kings-Harbor | New Year’s Eve, Monday, December 31 | FREE – Celebrate the grand reopening of Kings-Harbor in Kingwood with an evening of live music featuring TC & The Cannonballs at 4pm and a 12-minute fireworks spectacular off the pier at 7pm. 4pm to 7pm.
  • 2019 Run Houston! at Sam Houston Race Park | New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1 – Get started on your New Year’s resolutions at the 2019 Run Houston, which offers a 10K, 5K, and Kids 1K race at Sam Houston Race Park. The 10K and 5K are $50, while the Kids 1K costs $30. 8:30am to noon.
  • Screen on the Green: Justice League Movie Screening at Discovery Green | Thursday, January 3 | FREE – The family-friendly, free winter film series, Screen on the Green, continues with a free screening of Warner Bros’ 2017 superhero mashup Justice League. 7pm
  • Circus Night in the Square at Memorial City | Thursday, January 3 | FREE – Be amazed and delighted by Houston’s premier circus group, Cirque La Vie, with their high-flying, spectacular family-friendly performance at Memorial City. 7pm.
  • Funfetti Fridays on The ICE at Discovery Green | Friday, January 4 – Head over to The ICE skating rink at Discovery Green as DJ Mohawk Steve spins your favorite jams along with a light show on the rink. Tickets are $11; $4 skate rental. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Young Writers Workshop at Discovery Green | Saturday, January 5 | FREE – Writers in the Schools and the Houston Public Library Express offer a free writing workshop for students in 2nd through 8th grade at Discovery Green park. Limited to 25 students per workshop. 10:30am to 11:30am.
