  • Cheap Skate Nights on The ICE at Discovery Green | Monday, December 18 – Get into the holiday spirit and bring the whole family to The ICE at Discovery Green for their Cheap Skate Nights. On select Mondays this winter, you can glide around The ICE for just $8 per person instead of the usual $14. 5pm to 10pm.
  • The Houston Rockets’ Hoops for Hanukkah at Toyota Center | Monday, December 18 – Cheer for the Rockets as they take on the Utah Jazz during Hoops for Hanukkah. Your ticket includes a t-shirt, on-court menorah lighting, exclusive meet and greet, and post-game free throws on the court. Tickets are $24. 7pm.
  • Christmas in the Park 2017 at George Ranch Historical Park | Tuesday, December 19 through Saturday, December 23 – Travel through Christmas pasts on a festive hayride (weather-permitting) and explore holiday customs and decorations from 1830s to the 1930s. The 1860s Ryon Prairie Home will be offering wassail and Christmas treat samples and Santa Claus will lead story time in the Treehouse at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Tickets are $10; $5 for ages 5 to 15; $9 for ages 62 and up; free for ages 4 and under. 9am to 5pm each day.
  • 8th Annual Holiday Lights Tours at Market Square Park | Thursday, December 21 through Sunday, December 24 – Meet up at Market Square Park, get on a bus, and join the Houston Wave for a tour of the many lights around Houston. Tickets are $35 per person. 6:30pm each day.
  • Screen on the Green: A Madea Christmas Movie Screening at Discovery Green | Thursday, December 21 | FREE – Laugh it up as Madea dispenses her unique form of holiday spirit when she’s coaxed into helping a friend visit her daughter in a rural town for Christmas. 7pm.
  • The Polar Express Movie Screening at Sweet & Sassy | Friday, December 22 – Bring the kids in their pajamas to watch a screening of The Polar Express, take part in crafts, and enjoy a limo ride around Kingwood to see the holiday lights at Sweet & Sassy. Tickets are $35 per person and reservations are required. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Caturday Morning Cartoons at El Gato Coffeehouse | Saturday, December 23 – Spend a lazy Saturday morning watching cat-themed cartoons from the ’90s at this family-friendly event El Gato Coffeehouse Cat Cafe. Tickets are $10 an hour for kids ages 5 to 17; $12 an hour with a student ID; $14 an hour for adults. 10am.
  • Frosty the Snowman at Salem Lutheran | Saturday, December 23 – Frosty and his young friends learn valuable lessons about the true meaning of friendship when family musical Frosty the Snowman comes to Salem Lutheran in Houston. You and your family can watch the magical hat in action this holiday season. Tickets start at $10, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $5. There will be a performance at 11am and 1:30pm.
  • It’s A Wonderful Life Movie Screening at Baybrook Mall | Saturday, December 23 – Baybrook Mall host their Family Movies on the Lawn event and screens the holiday favorite, It’s A Wonderful Life. 11am.
  • Cooking Class: Kids Holiday Bread Baking at Kitchen Chick | Saturday, December 23 – Bring the kids to a festive, hands-on cooking class where they will learn to bake homemade fresh bread at Kitchen Chick in Galveston. This class is for kids ages 7 and up. Tickets are $30 per child. 4pm to 7pm.
