With the holidays out of the way, touring performers hit the road again with legendary songwriters, stacked lineups, and rising stars finding stages across Houston in January.

  • Playoff Playlist Live at Shell Energy Stadium | Friday, January 5 to Sunday, January 7 | FREE with RSVP – Dive into the excitement of the college football playoff season with a three-day concert series set against the backdrop of the Downtown skyline from the EaDo stadium. Kick off the weekend with a family-friendly performance from Kidz Bop on Friday; then, Saturday brings a powerhouse evening featuring the talents of Jack Harlow, Latto, 2 Chainz, and Paul Russell; and Sunday caps off the festivities by bringing country music to the forefront with performances by Jon Pardi, Jake Owen, and Megan Moroney. Register for free wristbands to attend; Friday requires no wristband. 6pm.
  • Houston Symphony presents Swingin’ Sinatra: A New Year’s Celebration at Jones Hall | Friday, January 5 to Sunday, January 7 – The charming jazz soul singer, pianist and songwriter Tony DeSare leads the Houston Symphony’s Big Band as they go traveling through all of Ol’ Blue Eyes’ greatest hits. $45 and up. Times vary.
  • 15th Annual BowiElvis Fest at Continental Club | Saturday, January 6 – This annual festival returns to Mid-Main, honoring two music legends with a shared birthday; David Bowie and Elvis Presley. Catch tribute tunes from bands across multiple stages, face painting, Bowie and Elvis games, a costume contest, prizes and more. $25 and up. 6:30pm to late.
  • Galveston Symphony Orchestra presents New Year’s Pops Concert at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Sunday, January 7 – Cap off the first week of the new year with the premiere of the GSO’s newest chamber ensemble, Fossekall, who provides a high-energy Latin music and dance–inspired program. $10 and up. 4pm.
  • Keith Sweat, with Dru Hill, Johnny Gill & Levelle at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, January 13 – The New Jack Swing pioneer Keith Sweat leads an all-star lineup of R&B legends for a captivating MLK weekend experience in Sugar Land. $82 and up. 8pm.
  • The Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular at Bayou Music Center | Saturday, January 13 – Prepare to be immersed in the legendary sounds of Pink Floyd on a multimedia journey through the timeless music of one of the most legendary and influential bands of the 20th century. $24 and up. 8pm.

  • Elvis Costello & the Imposters, with Charlie Sexton at House of Blues | Wednesday, January 17 – Living legend and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer Sir Elvis Costello is bringing his band to the Downtown hotspot to celebrate his 32nd studio release, The Boy Named If. $49.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Tommy Prine, with Gabe Lee at White Oak Music Hall | Thursday, January 18 – Son of country-folk legend John Prine, Tommy heads to Houston to perform music from his debut record, This Far South, on the White Oak stage. $18 and up. 7pm.
  • Playboi Carti at Toyota Center | Friday, January 19 – Trailblazer of the rage trap genre, Playboi Carti out of ATL is finally coming through Houston after his rescheduled September date to tear up the Toyota Center stage with music from his upcoming 2024 release. $50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Odd Eye Circle at Bayou Music Center | Friday, January 19 – The South Korean girl group and sub-unit of Loona brings their 2023 hit single “Sweet Crazy Love” and more to the Downtown stage. $76 and up. 7:30pm.
  • The Record Company, with Jesse Ahern at White Oak Music Hall | Saturday, January 20 – The L.A.–based Grammy-nominated rock ‘n’ roll outfit are celebrating the release of their fourth studio record, aptly named The 4th Album, with a massive tour around the States. $25 and up. 7pm.
  • Lucinda Williams & Her Band at the Heights Theater | Sunday, January 21 – The iconic Grammy Award–winning artist known for her distinctive voice and profound storytelling is bringing Her Band to the Heights Theater for a show celebrating her recently released 15th studio album, Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart. $48 and up. 7pm.
