Savor hearty bowls at gumbo cook-offs, and indulge in elegant wine dinners. Don’t miss the smoky showdown at the iconic World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, where Texas pitmasters fire up as a tasty lead-in to Rodeo season.

Top 10 Food & Drink Events & Offerings in Houston This Month: February 2025

Galveston Restaurant Week on Galveston Island | Ends Sunday, February 2 Now is your last chance to head to the island and dine out for a good cause during the annual, month-long Galveston Restaurant Week, with participating restaurants featuring discounted prix fixe menus in benefit of United Way of Galveston, Galveston’s Own Farmers Market’s community-based food programs and Family Service Center of Galveston County. Look out for 2 or 3-course dinners running $20 to $60, 2-course lunches from $10 to $30, and brunches priced at $10 to $40 at local favorites like Fish Company Taco, Katie’s Seafood, Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar, and Number 13 Prime Seafood & Steak. Locations and times vary.

Virtù Pop-Up at Bandista | Monday, February 3 & Tuesday, February 4 The acclaimed speakeasy inside Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown welcomes Tokyo’s Virtù, named #11 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars, as its first international pop-up. Head Bartender Keith Motsi, and Assistant Head Bartender Graham Kimura will take the stage at Bandista, showcasing five Virtù house cocktails featuring Michter’s whiskies, Los Siete Misterios mezcal, and Farmers gins, priced from $30 each. 90-minute seatings are available by reservation, with proceeds benefiting Camp H-Town. 7pm to midnight both nights.

Sky High for Kids King Cake Campaign at Common Bond Coffee & Bakery | Wednesday, February 5 to Fat Tuesday, March 4 – Common Bond is teaming up with The Hangry Houstonian and Sky High for Kids for the fifth year to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer with their DIY King Cake Kits and Traditional King Cakes. The Mardi Gras-inspired campaign invites customers to purchase king cakes, with $5 from each sale supporting Sky High’s mission. You can also donate a DIY King Cake Kit to a childhood cancer patient at Texas Children’s Hospital, with a goal of delivering 200 cakes on Mardi Gras Day, Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Pre-orders are open through Thursday, February 27, with festive treats available for in-store purchase.

Littorai Wines Dinner at March | Thursday, February 6 Enjoy an exclusive celebration marking the 30th anniversary of renowned California winery, Littorai Wines, featuring a 5-course tasting menu crafted by March’s Michelin-starred chefs and pairings including rare vintages from the 1990s to today. The evening begins with a Champagne welcome. $450. 6:30pm.

Monthly Tasting Menu Series: Veracruz at Caracol | Through Saturday, February 8 The coastal Mexican eatery continues its monthly tasting menu series with a focus on Veracruz, the Gulf of Mexico region known for vibrant cuisine with European, Afro-Cuban and indigenous influences. Dine on 4 courses featuring Vuelve a la Vida seafood cocktail, grouper with blue crab broth, mole duck leg, and rum-flambeed bananas. $70, with optional beverage pairings for $30.

Valentine’s Day For Two at Guard & Grace | Thursday, February 13 to Saturday, February 15 Guard and Grace invites lovers to share a thoughtfully curated special menu designed for two, featuring dishes such as Crispy Gulf Oyster with cucumber, créme fraîche, and caviar; Wagyu Filet Flight showcasing the finest wagyu from around the globe; and more. The full á la carte menu will also be available. Reserve via OpenTable.

Eat Drink HTX Around Greater Houston | Saturday, February 15 to Friday, February 28 – From the team behind Houston Restaurant Weeks, the food fundraiser Eat Drink HTX returns for a two-week run this month. The campaign features casual and fast-casual restaurants around the city, with lower price point sets for prix fixe brunch, lunch, and dinner menus in benefit of the Houston Food Bank and Kids’ Meals. This year’s roster of participants includes favorites like Be More Pacific, Craft Pita, Kin Dee Thai Cuisine, Kriti Kitchen, Maine-ly Sandwiches, Ramen Tatsu-Ya, and more.

Mardi Gras! Galveston on Galveston Island | Friday, February 21 to Fat Tuesday, March 4 – More than 3 million beads will be thrown at Mardi Gras! Galveston, Texas’s largest Mardi Gras celebration. Running through Fat Tuesday, the multi-day festival features elaborate parades, headliner performances, family events, and plenty of gluttonous, island-style feasting opportunities. Prices and times vary.

2025 Rodeo Uncorked! Roundup & Best Bites Competition at NRG Center | Sunday, February 23 – Before the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo takes over town, the Roundup & Best Bites Competition brings foodies and wine enthusiasts together for one of the largest gourmet food events in the world. Over 450 award-winning wines and more than 100 signature dishes will be on display, and guests can chat with chefs and winery representatives while helping decide who takes home the “People’s Choice Award.” $165. 6:30pm.

World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park | Thursday, February 27 to Saturday, March 1 – Epic bbq weekend, the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, kicks off the Houston Livestock Show & Rode, with more than 250 teams of barbecue enthusiasts competing for the title. Team tents are invitation-only, but visitors can also join in on the fun at several public venues, including the carnival, The Garden, Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon and the Chuckwagon. $26; $10 for ages 3 to 12 and include a complimentary sliced brisket plate with chips and beans.
