Planting on the Parkway at Buffalo Bend Nature Park – Help plant trees in Buffalo Bayou’s latest renovated site, Buffalo Bend Nature Park, in preparation of its grand opening next week. 9am to 11am.

- First Saturday Arts Market in The Heights | FREE to Attend – Browse artwork and enjoy delicious bites and live music at the First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights. 11am to 6pm.
- Valentine’s Beer & Chocolate Tasting at The Ginger Man – Celebrate Valentine’s Day a week early at this annual pairing of seasonal brews and exceptional chocolate. $40. 3pm.
- Houston Rockets vs. Portland Trail Blazers at Toyota Center – Get loud at the Rockets game as they take on the Trail Blazers at home. Tickets start at $25, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale market. 4pm.
- Sunset Sip & Stroll Farmers Market in La Porte | FREE to Attend – Sip wine and enjoy music, food and art while strolling the Sunset Sip & Stroll farmer’s market at Five Points Plaza. 4pm to 9pm.
- Americas Rugby Championship: U.S.A. vs Argentina at BBVA Compass Stadium – See USA Rugby Men’s Eagles face off against the fifth-ranked nation in the world at the opening game of the Americas Rugby Championship. Tickets range from $23 to $178, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale marketplace. 7pm.
- Final Day of Monster Jam 2016 at NRG Stadium – See the last bout of the ridiculously powered, oversized trucks of Monster Jam go head-to-head on a high-flying obstacle course. Tickets start at $22; $10 for ages 2 to 12. You may find cheaper and better seats via TicketNetwork’s resale market. 7pm.
- Robert Jacobus Book Signing at Brazos Bookstore – Get a copy of the book Houston Cougars in the 1960s – which details the “game of the century” and the UH team who played – signed by author and University of Houston alumni Robert Jacobus. 7pm.
- Playing with Chocolate Cooking Class at Central Market – Whip up treats like grilled chocolate sandwiches, spice dusted double chocolate brownie cookies and rocky road with cookbook author and pastry chef Alice Medrich. 5pm to 7:30pm.
- Mardi Gras at Historic Market Square and Market on Main | FREE – Celebrate Mardi Gras at Market Square with live music from Bayou City Brass Band starting at 7:30pm, followed by shopping and food truck bites at the Market on Main Street until 2am.
- BalletBoyz at the Wortham Center – Watch a production of modern dance from London’s 10 person dance company BalletBoyz at the Wortham Center. $30 to $78; limited discounted $15 to $39 tickets available. 8pm.
- Houston Brazilian Carnaval at Hughes Hangar – Celebrate Mardi Gras with food and drink, Samba dancers, Brazilian music, drummers, a live DJ and a live video stream of the Rio Parade during the annual Houston Brazilian Carnaval at Hughes Hangar. $30; limited discounted $15 tickets available. 9pm.
- ComedySportz Houston presents The Lion King: Unscripted at Queensbury Theatre – Learn what “Hakuna Matata” really means (hint: it’s based on audience suggestions and different at every show) at this adults-only improv performance that takes everything you know about Simba, Mufasa, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa and flips it on its head. $14; but limited comped (you just pay ticket fees) and discounted $7 tickets available. 10:30pm.

- Bayou Bikers Ride at Market Square Park | FREE – Join Bayou Bikers for a 25 to 40 mile ride along the bayous. Meet at Market Square Park. 8am.
- Super Beef Sunday at Saint Arnold – Chow down on BBQ from Louie Mueller, Pinkerton’s and Feges during Saint Arnold’s third annual pre-super bowl party. Tickets include ‘que tastings, brews and a pint glass. $50. 11am to 2pm.
- Opera in the Heights presents La Cenerentola at Lambert Hall – Opera in the Heights presents a cheeky, non-Disney version of Cinderella. Tickets range from $35 to $67. 2pm.
- Wonder Bowl at 8th Wonder Brewery – Watch the Super Bowl with 8th Wonder brews and food from Eatsie Boys and Pappa Charlie’s BBQ. There will be ten HDTVs and a big screen outside. Noon until the game is over.
- Super Bowl Watch Party at Karbach Brewing Co. – Watch the game on one of two large projection screens at the Karbach Brewery and enjoy a buffet, pint glass and 3 beer pours. $45. 4pm to 10pm.
- Lunar New Year Festival at Discovery Green | FREE to Attend – Hear live music from DJ Sun and Us and People Like You along with an audio visual and dance performance during this Lunar New Year festival in Downtown. 6pm to 10pm.
- Bryson Tiller in Concert at House of Blues – Head to House of Blues to see a concert from singer-songwriter Bryson Tiller on his Trapsoul Tour. First run tickets are sold out, but a limited number of seats may be available on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
