Stages: Das Barbecü at The Gordy | Daily | Ongoing – Stages foot-stomping musical reimagines Wagner’s epic Ring cycle as a hilarious Texas hootenanny, with five actors playing more than 30 parts in the Montrose theater. $25+. Showtimes vary.

Royal Opera of Madrid: Authentic Flamenco with Patricia Donn at Bayou Theater | Thursday & Friday – The rousing showcase headlined by the award-winning flamenco dancer also features a renowned line-up of Spanish musicians, dancers, and singers. $31.20+. 6pm and 8:30pm both nights. 

Vitacca Ballet: Smith Works at The Hobby Center | Thursday & Friday – Houston choreographer Garrett Smith and his company present an evening of audience favorites, including Somewhat Closer, Hypnotic Forces, After Silence and an innovative world premiere. $20+ 7:30pm.

26th Annual Houston Greek Fest at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church | Thursday to Saturday | FREE with Canned Goods Donations Dig into Greek foods and pastries, shop local vendors, try out traditional dancing, and bask in family-friendly fun. $10; free for ages 10 and under or with 3 canned goods per person. Comedian Melissa Villaseñor at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday Saturday Night Live’s first-ever Latina cast member and a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent , Villaseñor brings her special brand of comedy impressions to Houston for 5 shows. $31.40+. Times vary.

Comedian Randy Feltface at Punch Line Houston | Thursday to Saturday – The Australian purple puppet known for his hilarious observational comedy and riffing on the audience pops up in Houston for 5 shows. $38.20+. Times vary.

52nd Annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival at Pasadena Fairgrounds | Thursday to Sunday – The 4-day fest returns to southeast Houston, with barbecue, carnival rides, a car show, mutton bustin’, a kids zone, the largest strawberry cake you’ve ever seen, and more. $15; $5 for ages 6 to 10; free for ages 5 and under. Houston Symphony: Stayin’ Alive: The Bee Gees & Beyond at Jones Hall | Friday to Sunday – Dance in your seat as world-renowned a cappella sensation Rajaton brings their smooth harmonies to the songs that lit up the disco era. $51+. Times vary.

Houston Poké Fest at Houston Marriott South | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – It’s not about the tasty bowls from Hawaii, rather a celebration of Pokémon delving into the world of card games, Pokémon Go, Funko pops, comics, magic, and more. 10am to 6pm both days.
