- The Lemon Climb Houston at Chase Tower – Climb up to 75 flights of stairs inside the tallest building in Houston to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fund, a national foundation that raises money for research into new treatments and cures for childhood cancer. $25. 8:30am.
- Yoga on the Plaza at Rothko Chapel – Connect with your mind and body during an hour-long yoga class by the calming reflecting pool at Rothko Chapel. Suggested donation of $15. 9am to 10am.
- “Looking Back” History Tour at Buffalo Bayou Park – Step aboard Buffalo Bayou Park’s pontoon boat for an educational cruise through the city. You’ll hear all about the important people, places, and events that have helped shape modern-day Houston. $40. 10am to 11:30am.
- Bubble’s Big Top Circus: Grand Opening Celebration at The Learning Experience in West U | FREE – Head to the newly opened Learning Experience on Bellaire for a carnival-themed grand opening party, complete with magic shows, train rides, face painting, a moon walk, and more. 10am to 2pm.
- Heights Kids’ Day Of Music at Love Park | FREE – Teach your kids about all things music during Heights Kids’ Day of Music at Love Park. Kids can touch, feel, and play a variety of band and orchestra instruments at the “petting zoo,” then meet with members of Opera in the Heights to learn what it takes to be a professional opera singer. 10am to 2pm.
- Watercolor Art Society-Houston 2018 Art Fair at WAS-H Building in the Museum District | FREE – Browse and shop the works of 32 Houston area watercolor artists at a outdoor market under the trees, and visit the International Watercolor Exhibition on display inside the gallery. Demonstrations will be given throughout the day and It’s a Wrap food truck will be on hand until 2:30pm. 11am to 4pm.
- 8th Annual Woodlands Crawphish Festival at Town Green Park – Kick back with perfectly seasoned Louisiana crawfish and a cold beer during the Woodlands Crawphish Festival at Town Green Park. Featuring live music and kids’ activities, this yearly event benefits the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Tickets start at $15. 11am to 4pm.
- Art is an Outdoor Market at Republic Square | No Cover – Shop a variety of artisan goods during this bi-annual, European-style market at Republic Square. Local vendors include everything from painters and leather workers to florists and candlemakers. 11am to 6pm.
- 4th Annual BigAss Crawfish Bash at Gulf Greyhound Park – Stuff your face with all-you-can-eat mudbugs while listening to live music, riding carnival rides, and shopping from vendors during the BigAss Crawfish Bash at Gulf Greyhound Park. The annual event, which is known to sell out, benefits several charities, including Camp Hope, Texas Special Olympics, local Education Foundations, Boyscouts, and C.E.R.T. $25. 11am to 11pm.
- Alice! at Prohibition – Enter the fantastical world of Wonderland during Alice!, a newly adapted musical derived from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Arrive early for fun activities like face painting and balloon animals at Conservatory. Tickets are $20, but you may find limited discounted tickets for $10. Noon.
- Houston Holi: Festival of Colors at Brazos River Park – Celebrate India’s harvest season with a lively festival of food, dancing, Bollywood music, carnival rides, and of course, blasts of multicolored powder. Headlining the festival is Zach Knight, a British-Pakistani singer, songwriter, and producer known for his catchy Indian pop music. $12. Noon to 5pm.
- 10th Annual Margarita Taste Off at Kirby Ice House – Vote for your pick of the best margarita during the 10th Annual Margarita Taste Off at Kirby Ice House. In between samples, hit up the Don Julio tasting station, dance to music from a DJ, enter raffles, and scope out the Kendra Scott jewelry pull. $40. 1pm.
- The Itchy Acres Art Experience at Orange Show Center for Visionary Art – Visit Houston’s own living and working artist community as the residents of Itchy Acres welcome guests for an evening of food, drinks, music, and studio tours. $100. 4pm to 9pm.
- Live! at The Lawn at Memorial City | FREE – Enjoy an evening of live music and street performers at The Lawn greenspace, featuring a rotating roster of interactive entertainment like African drums, belly dancers, and DJs at Memorial City Mall. 6pm to 9pm.
- Sunny California Gala at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion – Take an imaginary road trip through California during The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion’s first-ever Sunny California Gala, which will feature an open bar, three-course dinner, and music from Don Felder, the former lead guitarist for The Eagles. Proceeds will benefit the venue’s performing arts events, educational outreach, and The Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship Fund. Tickets start at $500. 6:30pm to midnight.
- Houston Rockets vs. New Orleans Pelicans at Toyota Center – Cheer loud for the Rockets when they hit the court to play the Pelicans at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $59, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
- 8th Annual Bayou City Poetry Grand Slam at Alley Theatre – Watch the best of the best compete for first-place poet during the annual Bayou City Poetry Grand Slam at Alley Theatre. - The Late Show: Bathtub Full of Gin at Prohibition Supperclub – You’re in for a sexy, booze-filled evening when the Moonlight Dolls take the stage for this 1920’s show at Prohibition Supperclub. Tickets start at $20, but limited, discounted $10 tickets are available. 11:30pm.

- Fifth Annual Kite Festival at Hermann Park | FREE – Fly a kite alongside thousands of Houstonians at Hermann Park’s Fifth Annual Kite Festival. Take a break from kiting to enjoy music and entertainment, interactive activities and crafting in the H-E-B Kids’ Zone, face painting, and food trucks. 10am to 5pm.
- Bayou City Outdoors Graffiti Art & Bike Ride at Market Square Park | FREE – Bike around the city on a path specifically chosen to pass by some of Houston’s most impressive displays of street art. End your ride with drinks and Greek food from Niko Niko’s in Market Square Park. 1pm to 4:30pm.
- Previews: Daisy at Main Street Theater – Get a sneak peek of Main Street Theater’s newest production, Daisy, a play based on the infamous advertisement from the 1960s. Based on real people and events, Daisy explores the impact of the media and that unforgettable commercial now known as the origin of negative ad campaigns. 3pm.
- Houston Dash vs. Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium – Cheer on the Dash as they play the Chicago Red Stars in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $19. 4pm.
- Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks at Toyota Center – Cheer loud for the Rockets when they hit the court to play the Hawks at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $59, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
- Battle Station: Competitive Improv at Station Theater – Follow along as two expert improv teams are pit against one another in a no-holds-barred, cage-match style, head-to-head show at Station Theater. 8:30pm.
