- Origami with Japan America Society of Houston at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Come learn this ancient art with a focus on National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, where you can try your hand at different skill levels making corn, strawberry, or an orange. 11am.
- World Ocean Day Festival at East Beach | FREE – Spend the day discovering, learning and experiencing how to be a part of the solution to keep pollution out of the ocean. Enjoy hands-on activities on the beach, along with art workshops, Bucket Brigade tours, and live entertainment. 11am to 4:30pm.
- 2-Year Party at Basket Books & Art | FREE – Celebrate with this Montrose neighborhood bookstore for their second anniversary by finding a bevy of choices for all types of readers during a day-long party. 11am to 7pm.
- Urban Green presents Gardens & Goblets at McGovern Centennial Gardens – Leading restaurants and bars hit the park patio for a cocktail and mocktail competition. Enjoy featured bites, beer, wine, music and all the creative offerings. Ages 21 and up. $40 and up. Noon to 3pm.
- Vegan Day Party at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | FREE – Sample some mouthwatering vegan dishes and refreshing drinks at the Heights brewery. Vendors will serve up Caribbean-inspired vegan creations, plus you can enjoy live entertainment, limbo and hula hoop contests, a live DJ and more. Noon to 6pm.
- Pleasure Cruise: A Cheeky Tiki Adventure at Equal Parts Brewing | No Cover – In Second Ward, you can taste through six new flavors of the tiki-inspired Exotica brew, and grab a bite from an all-night pig roast and tropical side menu from Rowdy’s BBQ and El Pobre food truck. Noon to 10pm.
- National Rosé Day Brunch at Brasserie 19 – Sophisticated rosés, themed cocktails, “brunch-sized” bottles, special menu items and DJ Fxboxolmos helps make this a full Saturday morning to celebrate rosé. 12:30pm to 4:30pm.
- 30th Anniversary Party at Saint Arnold Brewing Company – The oldest craft brewery in Texas is celebrating 30 years of beers with an all-day birthday bash. The festival will feature several marquee musical acts from the Bayou City collaborating for the first time, including Kam Franklin, Devin the Dude, Robert Ellis and Fat Tony—plus food and beverages throughout the day, as well as commemorative glassware and throwback merch. $15 and up. 2pm to 10pm.
- Painting with Plants at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center – Wear your walking shoes and artsy clothing to paint and experiment with natural pigments in this creative outlet where you make watercolor art to take home. Ages 16 and up. $50. 3pm to 8pm.
- Ink&Image 2024 Opening Reception at Archway Gallery – It’s a citywide celebration of printmaking that debuts seven Gallery printmakers, including Blaine Davis, donna e perkins, Shirl Riccetti, John Slaby, Liz Conces Spencer, Robert L. Straight, and Cookie Wells along with guest artists, Mary Lee Gray, and Liv Johnson. 5pm. Artists’ talk at 6:30pm.
- Yellow Cup Weekend at Warehouse Live Midtown – This DJ-based festival brings the house party vibes to party, with a night of games, music and Yellow cups. Ages 21 and up. $35. 5pm.
- 16th Annual Bathing Beauties Contest at Saengerfest Park | FREE – Celebrate the beach seasons of the past and the future at a family friendly throwback event featuring the contest itself, plus classic cars, vintage vendors, live music by Dandy Wellington and His Band, food trucks, and more. 6pm to 9pm.
- Houston SaberCats vs. RFC Los Angeles at SaberCats Stadium – The top team in Major League Rugby, our very own SaberCats, celebrate 713 in one of their final home games of the year. Come out to see them play in special Houston blue jerseys, and cheer them on to another victory. $15 and up. 7pm.
- The Staudt Brothers with Sun Valley Station in Concert at Armadillo Palace – The electric five-piece rockers from Texas bring a night of gritty guitar riffs and red dirt Americana sounds to the Upper Kirby stage. Ages 21 and up. $12. 7pm.
- Emancipation Celebration Concert at the Grand 1894 Opera House – Grammy Award–winning artist Fred Hammond, known for soul stirring music and inspirational lyrics, along with Galveston’s the Stinson Five are set to outdo themselves with an electrifying night of music and celebration at the historic opera house. $20 and up. 7pm.
- Quintron & Miss Pussycat in Concert at the Orange Show – The genre-defying noise and hard rocking dance music act come to the Orange Show for a special night of experimental sounds. $20. 7pm.
- Exhumed in Concert at the Secret Group – The gore metal band celebrates the 25th anniversary of their debut album with a night of harsh songs from across their catalog. $25. 7pm.
- Wine & Food Week: Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott – This culinary extravaganza features chef demos and offerings from 35 restaurants, all competing for the national title of Chef of Chefs and a cash prize. While there, sample through hundreds of wines amongst series enthusiasts. $150 and up. 7pm to 10pm.
- Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood Movie Screening at the Menil Collection | FREE – Come by for an outdoor screening of Richard Linklater’s animated coming-of-age comedy-drama set during the events preceding the Apollo 11 moon landing, loosely based on the director’s childhood. 7:30pm.
- Chiquis in Concert at 713 Music Hall – Sing along with all the greatest hits as the renown performer celebrates the launch of her fifth album, packed with the sounds of banda, mariachi, electro-cumbia and more. $18.75 and up. 8pm.
- Honeycutt Southern in Concert at House of Blues – Southern rock, grunge and power pop is what you can jam to with this original hard rock band from Houston as they give a hat tip to rock and roll greats that came before them. $12. 8pm.
- Pandora Y Flans in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The trailblazing Latin American pop trio, known for their melodic prowess and captivating stage presence, is bringing their Inesperado tour to Sugar Land, celebrating their musical legacy. $66 and up. 8pm.
- Tango, Joropo, Danzas y Mas at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The Hermann Park stage hosts a free night of exhilarating sounds inspired by Caribbean folk songs and dances, Indigenous Brazilian legends, Argentinian tango and Venezuelan joropo. Houston-based Aperio ensemble backs up acclaimed soloists Ernesto Vega, Pablo Estigarribia and Eddy Marcano. 8:30pm.
