- Houston Restaurant Weeks 2020 Around Greater Houston | Daily – H-Town’s ever-popular month-long dining event dominates August, complete with a new takeout option, offering up multi-course, fixed-price menus at almost 200 establishments around greater Houston. For every meal sold, $1 will be donated to Houston Food Bank. $20 lunches and brunches; $35 or $45 for dinners.
- Sugar Land Sweet Cash Program | Daily – Buy gift cards to support from your favorite Sugar Land businesses, and get a free bonus gift card for each one, all while helping essential workers.
- Carya String Quartet presents Meditations on Bach Online | Ends Saturday | FREE – Tune into a This daily series of musical meditations from the Carya String Quartet, pairings famous Bach Chorales with artwork from Archway Gallery’s local artist-members. Noon daily.
- 10th Annual Mayor’s Back 2 School Fest at NRG Park | Friday and Saturday | FREE – Taking place as a drive-thru event this year in accordance with CDC pandemic protocols, the annual event distributes food, masks, backpacks, and school supplies to families of Houston-area elementary students. 8am to 2pm both days
- Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics: Live from Oakland Coliseum on ATT SportsNet-SW | Friday to Sunday – In what’s sure to be a hard-fought three-game series, watch on as Houston’s boys in blue and orange take on the Athletics live from Oakland Coliseum on ATT SportsNet-SW. Times vary.
- Mohammad Ali Bhatti’s Roots to Revolution Exhibition at Archway Gallery | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Get a look at Archway’s August exhibit from Mohammad Ali Bhatti that touches on themes inspired Bhatti’s interests in mysticism, people, our current social issues and more.
