• Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners: Live from Minute Maid Park on ATT SportsNet-SW | Friday to Sunday – The Seattle Mariners are in town for a three-game weekend series against the boys in blue and orange. Times vary.
• Walmart Drive-In Theater Pop-Up in Spring Branch | Friday and Saturday | FREE – RSVP in advance to catch film screenings of Friday Night Lights and Selena in the parking lot of the Houston Walmart on Silber Road, just west of the 610 Loop. Advance RSVP required. 7:30pm both nights.
• Sugar Land Skeeters: League Competitions Games at Constellation Field | Daily – See the Skeeters fend off professional teams at a local tournament that also features Sugar Land Lightening Sloths, Team Texas, and Easter Reyes del Tigre at socially distance ballgames throughout the weekend. Prices and times vary.
• Houston Restaurant Weeks 2020 Around Greater Houston | Daily – H-Town’s ever-popular month-long dining event dominates August, complete with a new takeout option, offering up multi-course, fixed-price menus at almost 200 establishments around greater Houston. For every meal sold, $1 will be donated to Houston Food Bank. $20 lunches and brunches; $35 or $45 for dinners.
• Sugar Land Sweet Cash Program | Daily – Help front-line essential workers just by purchasing gift cards from your favorite Sugar Land spots with the Sugar Land Sweet Cash Program.
• Mohammad Ali Bhatti’s Roots to Revolution exhibition at Archway Gallery | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Get a look at Archway’s August exhibit from Mohammad Ali Bhatti that touches on themes inspired by Bhatti’s interests in mysticism, people, our current social issues and more. • Clay Family Eastern Glades at Memorial Park | Daily – The newest addition to Memorial Park has opened to the public, providing vast spaces to sprawl out and relax among lively wildlife—not to mention spectacular sunset views at dusk.
• Dining “Out” at Home in Houston: Must Try Takeout Meals & Dishes | Daily – Discover our favorite picks for delicious H-Town takeout spots for Italian cuisine, Chinese cuisine, breakfast, tacos, vegan dishes, barbecue, desserts, lunch, sandwiches, burgers, locally-crafted beer, and many more.
• Fight to the Finish – 1945: The Final Year at Lone Star Flight Museum | Daily – Explore how Allied forces took to the air to bring an end to World War II and get a look at a collection of original war effort posters at this exhibition, open for summer and fall 2020. Times vary.

• Celebrating Diversity Through Reading: A Live Storytelling Series on Zoom | FREE with Registration – Enjoy a virtual storytelling event from Houston UNICEF Unite that celebrates racial diversity as children’s book author Carole Lindstrom reads from her book, We Are Water Protectors. Registration is required for this event. 4pm.
• Saint Arnold Brewing Company presents Virtual Beer & Cheese (& Cookie & Honey!) Pairing on Instagram Live – Enjoy a virtual guided pairing of select cheeses and brews from Saint Arnold’s founder/brewer Brock Wagner and cheesemonger Nicole Buergers from the Houston Dairymaids. • Roma’s Virtual Wine Dinner on Zoom – Local wine guru Jeremy Parzen hosts a decadent virtual wine dinner from Roma, the popular Italian restaurant in Rice Village. Pick up your meal and wine from 5pm to 7pm. $119 couples; $89 individuals. Virtual dinner starts at 7:30pm.

• Memorial City presents Kidtastic: Andyroo & The Andyrooniverse on Facebook Live | FREE – Geared toward ages 1 to 10, this 30-minute sing-along gives kids a chance to get up and use their energy, dancing to the tunes of local kid-friendly musician extraordinaires, Andyroo and the Andyrooniverse. 10am to 10:30am.
• Houston Rockets vs. Philadelphia 76ers on ATT Sportsnet-SW & ESPN – Watch the Rockets wrap up the first phase of the NBA restart, locking in playoff seeds for high-stakes games that begin next week. 3pm.
• City Orchard Virtual Cider Tasting on Facebook Live – Belly up for the first virtual tour of City Orchard cider, led by co-founder Patrick Kwiatkowski, as he dives into the August 2020 Flight Pack, with tasty brews like Cherry Red, Silver Tip, Mrs. Green, and Tin Lizard IPA.
