- Houston Restaurant Weeks 2021 | Daily – Kick off another month of specially-priced menus from almost 200 participating restaurants around town during the largest annual fundraiser for Houston Food Bank. The event will span Greater Houston through Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2021. Menu prices are expected to be $20 for lunches and brunches; $35 or $45 for dinners. Prices, times, and locations vary.
- Sugar Land Skeeters vs. Albuquerque Isotopes at Constellation Field | Daily – Get all the minor league baseball action you can handle when the Sugar Land Skeeters return to their home field for a six-game series against Albuquerque. $8 to $60, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Times vary.
- Damon Wayans at Houston Improv | Daily – From In Living Color to My Wife and Kids and 3 seasons on Fox’s Lethal Weapon television series, the beloved stand-up comedian, actor, and writer makes a stop in H-Town while on his Just Sayin’ tour for four nights of outrageous comedy. Tickets start at $90 for two people. Times vary.
- Closing Week: Dr. Seuss Experience at George R. Brown Convention Center | Daily – Catch your final chance to meet characters and explore the magical world of Dr. Seuss before it closes this weekend. At this imaginative, interactive, immersive exhibit, you’ll get a chance to ride on a carousel, meet the Cat in the Hat, get grumpy with the Grinch, and more. Tickets start at $23; free for ages under 2. Times vary.
- Mildred’s Umbrella presents Lady Grey (in ever lower light) Streaming Online | Thursday & Friday | Virtual – Catch the final days of Will Eno’s play that looks at marriage, life, and expectations—both our own and those of the people around us—through the lens of a woman in an almost-happy marriage. Performed onstage and filmed for a streaming audience, the show is the final installment of Mildred’s Umbrella’s digital projects. Tickets are free, although pay-what-you-can donations are appreciated.
- Jurassic Quest at NRG Center | Friday to Sunday – Walk among the dinosaurs at this indoor event that sends visitors through the Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic periods to get up close to realistic, true to life–sized, animatronic dinos. Plus, go fossil digging, enjoy baby dinosaur shows, and get into crafts, face painting, and much more. Prices and times vary.
- Catastrophic Theatre presents Tamarie Cooper’s Golden Jubilee | Friday to Sunday | Virtual – The incomparable Tamarie Cooper is 50 and that calls for a celebration in a way that only she can deliver. Riffing on all things 50, from 50 bad dates to that 50 pounds that won’t leave, this wild summer extravaganza features original songs, dances, and adorable pet appearances. Tickets are pay what you can.
- The Riot Comedy Show presents Gianmarco Soresi at Rudyard’s | Friday & Saturday – The New York-based comedian, actor, and writer takes to touring his new material, making a two-night stop at the Montrose British pub. Tickets start at $15. 7:30pm and 10pm both nights.
- Music Box Theater presents 10 Year Anniversary Show | Friday & Saturday – Catch the final nights of this celebration for Music Box’s re-opening of its cozy Colquitt Street home and its 10th anniversary at this cabaret featuring a musical tribute to favorite songs and funny moments from the last decade. Seating is limited to 60% capacity. $35; $48 for reserved seating. 7:30pm.
- The Big Show 2021 at Lawndale Art Center | Ends Saturday | FREE – The annual open-call juried show closes at Lawndale, offering visitors a chance to view works from local and regional artists that practice within a 100-mile radius of Houston. This year’s edition, curated by Cecilia Fajardo-Hill, features 212 artworks by 182 artists, culled from more than 500 submissions. 11am to 5pm.
- Current Temporary Museum Exhibits & Art Installations on View Around Greater Houston | Daily | Many FREE – Explore the many striking, stunning, and diverse exhibits exploring history, science, art, culture, and creativity around the Greater Houston metro area.

- Lyons Ave. Night Market at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | No Cover – From the mind behind Freedman’s Town Farmers Market comes a Thursday evening market in collaboration with Saint Arnold Brewing Company, elevating Black-owned small businesses and vendors along Lyons Avenue in Historic Fifth Ward. 5pm to 9pm.
- Summer Twilight Boat Tours on Buffalo Bayou – Escape the summer heat as you glide along the Buffalo Bayou while on a 30-minute boat tour, checking out native plants and wildlife like herons, fish, turtles, and the occasional alligator. $7; $5 for ages 4 to 12; children under the age of 4 are not permitted on boat tours. 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

- MFAH presents Virtual Lecture: Artist Vik Muniz via Zoom | FREE | Virtual – Tune in for a virtual conversation between artist Vik Muniz and photography curator Malcolm Daniel, when Museum of Fine Arts, Houston hosts an event online via Zoom. 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

- Distillery After Dark: A 2nd Round at William Price Distilling | No Cover – Spend your evening at a dance party with live DJs, a craft cocktail menu, a food truck and more, when the Department of Dance and William Price Distilling team up to bring you a summertime monthly event that turns the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest distillery into a club.
