1877 Tall Ship Elissa Day Sails at Galveston Historic Seaport

    Galveston Historical Foundation launches the 1877 Iron Barque Elissa for the annual spring day sails on the Gulf of Mexico. A limited number of spots, as sail training students, are available on each 6-hour sail.

    Participants will experience what life was like as a 19th century sailor. The program includes both hands-on and lecture learning, focusing on setting sails and maneuvering the 146-year-old ship through the Gulf of Mexico.
