Things to Do All Weekend
- Bill Watrous Jazz Festival at Sam Houston State University | Friday and Saturday – Get a dose of jazz music during this festival at SHSU where middle school and high school students will take the stage during the day and jazz legends along with the SHSU jazz ensemble take the stage in the evenings. Free admission from 9am to 7:30pm; 7:30pm concert tickets range from $5 to $15. 9am both days.
- Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park | Friday to Sunday – The Bayou City Art Festival showcases pieces from over 400 artists, including works from featured artist Gregory Arth. Spend the weekend at Memorial Park observing fine art and enjoying the outdoors. $12 online until March 26; $5 children – good for one entry. Noon to 6pm Friday; 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.
- Houston Antiques + Art + Design Show at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Find furniture, decorative pieces and fine art from more than 80 vendors during the Houston Antiques + Art + Design Show. $16.75 including ticket fees. 11am to 7pm Friday and Saturday; 11am to 5pm Sunday.
- Houston Home Show at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Attend the Houston Home Show show and enjoy a foodie spotlight featuring cooking demonstrations from local chefs, and a kids zone with inflatables and a cooking school. $9.95; $7.95 military personnel and seniors; free for children 14 and younger. 2pm to 7pm Friday; 10am to 7pm Saturday; 11am to 5pm Sunday.
- Bluebonnet Wine and Cheese Trail Northwest of Houston | Saturday and Sunday – Enjoy the beautiful Texas wildflowers, wine and cheese from various wineries along Hwy 290. $30 includes a commemorative glass, wine and cheese pairings. 11am to 6pm both days.
- The McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival Downtown | Saturday and Sunday – Bring the kids to the largest children’s festival in the country. See performances from Disney Channel star Jordan Fisher and American Idol runner up Jessica Sanchez, take photos with Minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob, participate in a hula hoop contest, get your face painted, jump around in a bounce house, and enjoy tons of food and games. $11.50 including ticket fee in advance; $12 at the door; free for children under 3. 10:30am to 6:30pm both days.
- Manready Mercantile 1-Year Anniversary Weekend | Saturday and Sunday – Sip, savor, and shop at the Heights Americana retailer’s one-year bash. Local vendors will be on-hand to offer up handmade goods along with free bites and drinks. Free. Noon to 7pm Saturday; Noon to 6pm Sunday.
- Texas Wine and Art Festival in Spring | Saturday and Sunday – Taste vino from wineries around Texas as they gather in Old Town Spring for the Texas Wine and Art Festival. Sample food and browse items like jewelry, photography and crafts from vendors. Tickets include a commemorative wine glass and 7 wine tastings. $25 in advance; $30 at the door. 10am to 6pm Saturday; 11am to 5pm Sunday.
