From its home just off Allen Parkway, Stages offers nearly a dozen shows a year, ranging from jukebox musicals to family fare to the work of emerging writers.
Its mission is to deliver compelling human stories in an intimate setting. Throughout its season, Stages might mount a show featuring the songs of Johnny Cash as well as a drama dealing with immigrants working in a restaurant kitchen.
The company has presented two-character dramas such as Sexy Laundry and musicals like Mack and Mabel.
Most of the company’s plays are contemporary, offering theatergoers a chance to see work by emerging and established writers.
