Main Street Theater

713-524-6706|mainstreettheater.com

Presenting a five-show “Main Stage” season as well as a five-show “Theater for Youth” series, Main Street has, for more than 40 years, been one of Houston’s prominent mid-size theater companies.

Founded in 1975, the organization presents everything from the classic comedies of Noel Coward to contemporary plays by Y York and Lauren Gunderson.

With a focus on diversity and inclusion, Main Street produces works that showcase the human experience. The company’s “Part of the Art” series also offers a selection of free programming that offers behind-the-scenes looks at its productions.

The professional theater company’s home base is the physical Main Street Theater in Rice Village. Most of the children’s theater performances are stages at MATCH in Midtown.
