Expect to see dozens of vintage professional automobiles including vintage fire trucks, flower cars, funeral hearses, ambulances, limos and more.
Rare Professional Cars and Trucks
Perhaps the most special feature at the show will be a FDNY fire engine that was used for rescue and recovery during 9/11 along with a performance from the Houston Fire Department’s pipes and drums ensemble. The truck had been retired and was being used as a training vehicle for the New York Fire Academy prior to September 11, 2001. However, during the rescue efforts that day, the engine was drafted back into service on the streets of NYC.
Other unique wheels at the show include a 1965 Cadillac ambulance-funeral coach combination vehicle and a rare – as in one of only seven that exist – 1958 Chevy Bel Air Ambulance.
After checking out the car show, head into the NMFH to see their permanent collection of funeral service vehicles including hearses used in the state funeral services of President Ronald Reagan, President Gerald Ford and Grace Kelly.
