Orlando Leyba at Punch Line Houston | Friday, January 3 & Saturday, January 4 – With many appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and his HBO comedy special Adorable under his belt, the standup’s animated demeanor, dynamic storytelling and undeniable likability regularly charms audiences across the U.S. $32 and up; 2 drink minimum. Lucas Zelnick at Punch Line Houston | Thursday, January 9 to Saturday, January 11 – Hailing from NYC and holding an MBA from Stanford, Zelnick challenges his cushy upbringing with punch-heavy material, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram and TikTok in a short time. $32 and up; 2 drink minimum. Times vary.

Steven Ho at Houston Improv | Friday, January 10 & Saturday, January 11 – The mastermind behind the Tips from the ER series has taken his show on the road. His Is It Emergency comedy tour has been leaving sold out shows across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. in its wake. Half of his 4 Houston shows are already sold out at press time. $120 for 4 and up. Times vary.

Gary Vider at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, January 10 & Saturday, January 11 – Vider’s subtle humor and dry style brought him up the ranks of America’s Got Talent, earned him spots on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Conan, saw him published in The New York Times and Time Out New York, and slayed audiences across North America. $25 and up; 2 drink minimum. Times vary.

The Tutson Interruption at Punch Line Houston | Sunday, January 12 – Houston comic Tre Tutson brings his hilarious podcast to the stage. Expect an evening of laughs from the hometown talent. $32.05 and up; 2 drink minimum. 7pm.

Cousin Tiera at Houston Improv | Thursday, January 16 – Chicago’s own comedian who become a sensation with her viral black mom videos, delivering raw and relatable comedy as a great comedic storyteller, bring her Family Reunion tour to the comedy stage at the MarqE in Spring Branch. $50 for 2 and up. 7:30pm.

Muslim Girls Comedy Tour at the Secret Group | Friday, January 17 – As seen on Showtime and Hulu, female muslim comedy showcase features Reem Edan, Atheer Yacoub, Aizzah, Marena Riyad—each with their own original Arabian perspective and American story—to the Box for one night only. All ages. $15; $18 starting on Sunday, January 12; $30 VIP. 8pm.

Kellen Erskine at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, January 17 & Saturday, January 18 – Erskine’s hilariously creative mind straight forward delivery has nabbed him spots on Conan, Comedy Central, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, America’s Got Talent, Amazon’s Inside Jokes and Dry Bar. $22 and up; 2 drink minimum. 7pm both nights.

Shuler King at Houston Improv | Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19 – The South Carolinian comic, who’s also a working funeral director and embalmer as it happens, is known for his straight, raw comedy that doesn’t shy away from the difficult. $50 for 2 and up. Times vary.

An Evening with Issa Rae at the Hobby Center | Saturday, January 18 – Wildly celebrated for her HBO show Insecure and her award-winning web series and the accompanying New York Times best-seller The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, Rae comes to HTX for cozy vibes, big laughs, nostalgic feels, and candid convos with the audience. $39 and up. 8pm.

Ha Ha for Hope: A Charity Comedy Night at The Riot Comedy Club | Wednesday, January 22 – Catch a lineup of talented local comedians at a fundraiser for Ha Ha for Hope, a nonprofit using comedy to uplift communities founded by Brian Gendron, who also founded The Riot. $20 and up; 2 drink minimum. 7pm.

Modi Rosenfeld: Pause for Laughter Tour at the Hobby Center | Wednesday, January 22 & Thursday, January 23 – Named one of New York City’s top 10 comedians The Hollywood Reporter, the Israeli-born American is noted for his sharp wit and a knack for reading an audience. $73.27 and up. 7pm both nights.

Drew Lynch: The Faking It Tour at Cullen Performance Hall | Thursday, January 23 – Emerging onto the comedy scene on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, Lynch is known for his And These Are Jokes streaming special and prolific appearances on podcasts and Conan. $24.50 and up. 7:30pm.

Jason Ellis Live at The Secret Group | Thursday, January 23 – The Australian professional skateboarder, radio personality, MMA fighter, race car driver, New York Times best-selling author, actor, singer, public speaker, XGames participant and host, podcaster and comic brings his uniquely honed observations to the EaDo club. $15; $20 day of. 8pm.

Ahren Belisle at Punch Line Houston | Thursday, January 23 to Saturday, January 25 – A top 10 finalist on America’s Got Talent and regular on the Kill Tony podcast, Belisle is a Canadian-born software engineer and mental health advocate turned comedian. $32 and up; 2 drink minimum. Times vary.

Affion Crockett at Houston Improv | Thursday, January 23 to Sunday, January 26 – Debuting on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, the actor, writer, dancer, and comic has gained over 50 million views on YouTube for his online sketch and parody videos, and appeared in multiple viral commercial campaigns. $50 for 2 and up. Times vary.

Steve Furey at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, January 24 to Saturday, January 25 – The L.A. based comic is a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store and The Ice House, as well as Punch Line San Francisco, Punch Line Sacramento, Laughs Unlimited, Cobb’s Theater, and more legendary stages. $22 and up; 2 drink minimum. 7pm both nights.

Josh Johnson at House of Blues | Sunday, January 26The Daily Show correspondent, and writer and performer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon before that, comes to Downtown Houston for 3 shows. $35.50 and up. 1pm, 3pm, and 7pm.

Abby Govindan’s How to Embarrass Your Immigrant Parents at The Secret Group | Sunday, January 26 – Indian American Govindan presents her stand up show / solo act that delves into wanting to understand your parents but struggling to see eye-to-eye in a hilarious tribute to her family’s heritage. $20. 8pm.

Joselito Dapuppet at Punch Line Houston | Sunday, January 26 – Featuring a unique Splangish comedy style, Joselito is the first ever Puerto Rican puppet stand up comedian. He’s joined on stage by Papi and Abuela, a mixing of generations that makes the show enjoyable for all ages. $7pm. $32 and up; 2 drink minimum.

Russell Peters at Houston Improv | Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 2 – The comedian recently named one of the 50 Best Comics of All Time by Rolling Stone comes to Houston for 6 shows across 3 nights. $110 for 2 and up. Times vary.

Pat Burtscher at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, January 31 & Saturday, February 1 – The internationally touring Burtscher’s unique capacity for reducing the universal to the personal has earned him critical acclaim and recognition as one of the most exciting stand ups working on the global circuit. $22 and up; 2 drink minimum. 7pm both nights.

Joe List at the Secret Group | Friday, January 31 & Saturday, February 1 – A finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing with popular comedy specials I Hate Myself and This Year’s Material, List lands in the Secret Room’s box for 4 shows over 2 nights. $25 advance; $30 day of. 7pm and 9pm both days.
