• Tattoo & Body Art Expo at NRG Center | Friday to Sunday – Two hundred tattoo artists convene at NRG for a weekend of on-site tattoos and piercings, contests, live performers and more. $20 and up. Times vary.
• Big Salsa Festival Houston 2022 at Westin Galleria Houston | Friday to Sunday – All weekend long, the Big Salsa Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with beginner dance classes, workshops, and Latin dance parties. $60 and up. Noon to 4pm.
• Red, White & Bayou Texas Music Festival & Tailgate in Downtown Dickinson | Saturday & Sunday – Returning for the first time since Hurricane Harvey, the City of Dickinson’s annual music festival fills Labor Day weekend with live music, boutique markets, a cook-off competition, kids zone and more. $10 and up. Times vary.
• Labor Day Live Music Fest at Southern Star Brewery | Sunday & Monday – The Conroe brewery holds a 2-day bash for Labor Day that features live performances from Nuelife of 5th Ward Boyz at a hip-hop themed Sunday festival, followed by rock tribute bands on Monday. $10 and up. Times vary.
• Houston Restaurant Weeks at Multiple Locations | Daily | Final Weekend – H-Town’s biggest food event of the year comes to a close as 200+ local restaurants offer up special fixed price meals for brunch, lunch and dinner (and even to-go), with a set dollar donation from each meal sold benefiting the Houston Food Bank. $25 for brunch and lunch; $39 to $55 for dinners. Times vary by location.

• Thorn & Moon Magickal Market at Raven Tower | No Cover – On the grounds of White Oak Music Hall, this unique market features talented performers, authors, and guests that are on hand while you shop wares from local artisans that include artwork, tarot, oddities, and other goods of the mystical and occult. 6pm to 11pm.
• Summer BBQ Series featuring No Label Brewing at Pinstripes – The chef team at Pinstripes serves up summer BBQ-inspired dishes from the grill like Pesto Chicken, Chicago-Style Baby Back Ribs, Burgers, Mac and Cheese, and more. $45. 6:30pm.
• An Evening With Peter Hook & the Light at House of Blues – Best known as the bassist and co-founder of the rock bands Joy Division and New Order, Peter Hook performs Joy Division: A Celebration with his band, The Light at House of Blues. $32.50 and up. 7pm.
• Bad Bunny in Concert at Minute Maid Park – The reggaeton rapper brings his chart-topping album Un Verano Sin Ti to the juicebox for back-to-back nights. Alesso opens the show. $125 and up, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
• LetsDoThisHouston presents ’90s Night Light Bike Ride – Enjoy a beginner level bike ride with LetsDoThisHouston and 3rd Ward Tours and listen to an all-’90s R&B playlist while you cruise the city. $28.50 with bike rental; $11 with your own bike. 7pm to 9:30pm.
• Asia Society Texas presents Arooj Aftab in Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Grammy Award–winning Pakistani vocalist, composer and producer Arooj Aftab performs her hauntingly beautiful music that includes styles of jazz, minimalism and neo-Sufi. 8pm.
• Jungle in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – British electronic music collective Jungle performs live with Paul Cherry in the Near Northside venue. $35 and up. 9pm.
• What So Not in Concert at Stereo Live Houston – The Australian electronica producer performs in West Houston in support of his sophomore album, Anomaly. $11. 10pm.
• Ilario Alicante in Concert at Bauhaus – Techno DJ and producer Illario Alicante comes to the east Downtown nightclub for a live set. $10 and up. 10pm.

• Chalk on the Block at Bagby Park | FREE – Step through a tour of Hispanic heroes and icons as chalk artists work on their creations at this monthly Midtown event. 10am to 2pm.
• The Ultimate Event 2022 at George R. Brown Convention Center – Car enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to this Saturday-only event that showcases 150 high-quality show cars along with live music, exhibitor booths and games. $30 and up; $15 for ages 6 to 12. 10am to 6pm.
• Mid-Autumn Festival at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Celebrate the arrival of the fall season at the Mid-Autumn Festival—also known in Asia as the Moon Festival or Lantern Festival—that welcomes the autumn harvest and full moon. The event will feature Taiwanese artists and photography, Vietnamese storytelling, and art activities that include lantern-making, paper cutting, and faux mooncakes. Free with advance RSVP. 11am to 2pm.
• Artisans Market & Nosh Fest at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – Shop more than 55 artisan vendors and small businesses at the expansive outdoor brewery in Conroe. 3pm to 8pm.
• Texas Longhorns Season Kickoff at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | No Cover – Hook ’em alongside fellow Longhorns when the college football season kicks off at the Midtown drinkery. 7pm.
• Grupo Firme in Concert at NRG Stadium – The Tijuana-based Mexican band, brings the Enfiestados y Amanecidos Tour to NRG Stadium. $89.50 and up. 7pm.
• The Fab 5’s British Invasion Show at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – The Beatles tribute band takes on tunes from groups like the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and other sixties rock classics at a free concert in Sugar Land. 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
• Mercury Chamber Orchestra presents Music Among Friends at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The award-winning local orchestra features in a live concert performance where the musicians riff on some of their favorites songs, including showpieces by Vivaldi, Elgar, Fritz Kreisler, George Gershwin, and more. 8pm.
• Devin the Dude in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – The Houston-native hip-hop artist takes to the near Downtown venue, joined by Willy J Peso, Big Cheeko and more. $25. 8pm.
• Zita in Concert at The Continental Club – Out of NOLA, this rock and roll band hits the stage in Mid Main, with support from Fatal Jets. $10. 9pm.
• Labor Day Weekend: DJ Danny Verde at ReBar | No Cover – The sought after DJ and Billboard Dance Chart-topper comes to this Montrose dance floor for a Labor Day Weekend celebration at the LGBTQ+ favorite in Montrose. 10pm to 2am.

• 5th Annual Taste of the Caribbean Festival at the Crown Festival Park – The Taste of the Caribbean Festival returns with a day celebrating delicious Caribbean food, live Caribbean music, Caribbean arts and culture, and family fun at the Sugar Land public park. $20. 2pm to 10pm.
• Labor Day Sunday with Solardo in Concert at Bauhaus – Bauhaus welcomes the dance/electronic ensemble, Solardo along with special guest Davide Squillace for DJ sets. $30. 4pm.
• Labor Day Market & Concert at Kings Harbor | FREE – Bring a lawn chair for an evening of live music by Jon David Finney Band as well as a market featuring local small businesses in celebration of Labor Day in Kingwood. 5pm.
• Labor Day in the Woodlands at Woodlands Waterway Square | FREE – The waterway in the Woodlands celebrates Labor Day Weekend with an evening of live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainers, a pie eating contest, and fireworks. 5pm to 9pm.
• 8th Wonder Comedy Hour featuring Steve Cantwell at The Secret Group – Comedian Steve Cantwell headlines a Sunday evening comedy showcase of local talent, also featuring Chelby Morgan, Eric Green, and Doug Allen and hosted by Luis Dejesus. All tickets include an 8th Wonder beer and take-home souvenir glass. $10. 6pm to 8pm; comedy at 6:30pm.
• So Long Summer: Labor Day Party at Mo’s Irish Pub Cypress | No Cover – Turn up for your last summer Sunday with this Labor Day bash featuring live music from Purple Moon and Billy Pope. 6pm to 9pm.
• Labor Day Sunday on the Terrace: Morgan Page at Stereo Live – Hit the terrace at Stereo Live for a Labor Day Sunday performance from DJ and producer Morgan Page. $10. 6pm to 10pm.
• Comedian Ku Egenti: One Night Only at the Secret Group – Houston’s own stand-up comic presents a comedy showcase featuring comedians Kate Vance and Kristi Kroll. $15. 7:30pm.
• The Lab: Comedy Open Mic at Leon’s Lounge | FREE – Each Sunday, local comics grab the mic for hot six-minute sets in one of Houston’s oldest bars, preceded by happy hour specials from 4pm to 8pm with $4 wells and house wines and $15 domestic buckets. If you’d like to try your hand at the open mic, sign up to participate at 7:30pm. 8pm to midnight.
• Labyrinth Walk & Sound Bath at Discovery Green | FREE – Artist Reginald C. Adams guides you on a walk through his Labyrinth structure in Discovery Green, with a guided meditation and sound bath. 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
• End of Summer Fireworks at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – Close out the summer season with a free fireworks display on the Boardwalk in Kemah. 9:30pm.

Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2022

• Labor Day Brunch at Dish Society – All Dish Society locations (from Katy to the Heights) will recognize Labor Day by hosting a special Monday brunch on the patio or inside to escape the heat over frozen mimosas, shrimp and smoked gouda grits, brisket & eggs, double stack pancakes, avocado toasts, and other brunch favorites. Menu prices vary. 8am to 3:30pm.
• Free Admission for Military & their Families at the Health Museum – In conjunction with the Blue Star Museums program, Health Museum hosts a day of free admission for military members and their families. Military ID required. 10am to 5pm.
• Plane Amazing Labor Day at Lone Star Flight Museum – The all-things-flight museum hosts a day of plane tours, flight simulators, entertainment and free hot dogs, chips and a drink. $10 admission for everyone at the door. 10am to 5pm.
• Labor Day Brunch & Dinner Service at B&B Butcher’s & Restaurant – The Washington Ave butcher and restaurant hosts a Labor Day brunch and dinner service, switching over at 3pm. Menu prices vary. 11am to 10pm.
• Labor Day Brunch & Dinner Service at Trattoria Sofia – Grub on rustic Italian food when the Heights eatery serves up brunch until 3pm, followed by dinner service. Menu prices vary; reservations recommended. 11am to 10pm.
• Labor Day Weekend: Tequila Garden & Summer Splash Finale at Sekai – The East Downtown club hosts an afternoon pool party with cocktails and DJs spinning Afrobeats, hip-hop and R&B. $20 and up; free before 2pm with RSVP. Noon to 10pm.
• Supa Soca: Labor Day Pool & Day Party at Clé Day & Night – Dive into the pool for a final time this summer when Clé host an afternoon of Caribbeans tunes at their day party. $15; free before 4pm with RSVP. 2pm to 9pm.
• Labor Day Patio Party at Fielding’s Local Kitchen & Bar – In the Woodlands, Fielding’s spreads out on the patio for food and drink on Labor Day, along with live music by Anthony Pitt and Justin Peña. Menu prices vary; reservations recommended. 3pm.
• Black Cowboy Tour at Houston This Is It Soul Food – Learn about the legacy of Black American cowboys through a bus tour that stops at notable locations around Houston. Tours depart from Houston This Is It Soul Food on Almeda. $50. 5pm to 6:30pm.
• Labor Day Live Music at CityCentre | FREE – The Memorial shopping district celebrates Labor Day with live music playing in the plaza, ranging from smooth jazz and pop to classic rock and country. 6pm to 9pm.
• Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park – The Rangers come to town in one of the final homestands of the Astros’ regular season. All fans in attendance will receive a Kyle Tucker ALCS replica ring. $12 and up. 6:10pm.
• Trivia Night at Little Dipper | FREE – Off Main Street in Downtown, Little Dipper hosts a trivia night of general knowledge questions that feature Houston, whiskey and other subject. Limit 6 people per team. 7:30pm to 10pm.
