Plan your next home improvement moves with expert chats, local vendors and more at the 18th annual Katy Home & Garden Show and Barndo Expo at the Katy ISD Ag Center on Saturday, March 23 & Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Featuring hundreds of home improvement and garden experts, the Katy Home and Garden Show is a great place to comparison shop for all their needs under a single roof. Shoppers and browsers can find everything they’ll need for home improvement including new flooring, windows, kitchens, baths, ideas to spruce up the backyard, and more.
Live demonstrations, workshops, and seminars happening throughout both days offer even more inspiration and span topics that include gut health, building and financing a barndo, spring planting, dog training, personal home safety, and more.
The first 100 people each day get a $5 Starbucks gift card compliments of Vitewall.

Home & Living Shopping Destinations
Visitors can visit specialty areas to find experts, goods and products devoted to important topics to the home.
Pet Central showcases new products and services devoted to four-legged family members, while Artisan Alley features handmade art products—think woodcarvings, paintings, jewelry, hats, and glass art—from local artists and creators. Other showcase areas include KEA Idea Rooms, an Outdoor Living Pavilion, and more.
The Garden Zone and the Brookwood Community’s sale present multiple options, including tropicals and seeds, for spring plants this year. The Garden Zone also offers ways to learn about edible gardening, arranging a raised bed, and tower gardening. It also features a stunning Koi Pond.
Barndominiums, or “barndos”, remain a hot suburban and rural design trend, so it’s no surprise that the Barndominium Expo will be returning. Taking the name from barns renovated to be condominium-like living spaces, barndominiums are metal structured buildings designed for people seeking expansive space, high ceilings, low maintenance, faster construction time, and energy efficiency.
The Youth Entrepreneur Market is also returning for a second year, featuring businesses created by area students ages 6 to 17. Shop with them and you’ll be supporting young entrepreneurs in the making.

IKEA Fresh Ideas Stage & Expert Showcases
The IKEA Fresh Ideas Stage will feature speakers and seminars throughout both days, including Stacee Lynn, “The Barndominum Lady”. The leading barndo designer will talk about the continued growth of the barndo trend and multi-generational families living on the same compound.
Charley Fisher of the Urban Garden Project will also lead two seminars focusing on what to do in the spring so have a blooming garden in the summer. On Sunday she’ll talk about companion plants and how strategic plant placement can help deter pests.
Visitors can also meet Stephen Ritz, author and founder of The Green Bronx Machine, who’s on a mission to teach healthy eating habits to young people across America. He’ll be at the show from 1:30pm to 2:30pm both days in the Juice Plus Tower Garden booth.
