Commemorate and celebrate the 247th year of American independence with a free seaside parade, fireworks show above the Gulf of Mexico, and more events on Galveston Island this 4th of July weekend.

As one of the most historic cities in America, Galveston pulls out the stops for the 4th of July and this year will be no different.

Both free, the island’s signature events will cap off the holiday itself with the 4th of July Parade traversing next to beach on Seawall Boulevard on Tuesday evening, followed by the 20-minute Fireworks Over the Gulf spectacular.

Leading up to the big event, you’ll also find plenty of patriotic events and attractions to fill out your long holiday weekend on the island—including the Sand Sculpture Showdown on East Beach, Beats on the Beach and Fireworks at Palm Beach, a free family-friendly concert from the Galveston Beach Band Concert, the Battleship Texas Exhibit at Galveston Railroad Museum, and many more.
