See Houston’s own Main Street Theater take on the irreverent fairy tale mash-up from Broadway Into the Woods from Thursday, January 16 to Sunday, Febuary 16, 2014.

Melding together the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Jack and the Beanstalk, Into the Woods features a Tony-winning score by Stephen Sondheim and explores the notions of greed and “happily ever after” itself.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, the original Broadway run won critical praise and numerous awards, including a trio of Tonys. The cast recording, which includes “Children Will Listen,” “Giants in the Sky” and “No One Is Alone,” took home a Grammy.

A movie from Walt Disney Pictures is now in production for a release at Christmas 2014, with a cast that includes Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt and more.
