Top Performing Arts Openings This Week: April 3-9, 2023

  • TUTS presents Legally Blonde at Hobby Center | Tuesday, April 4 | Ongoing – It’s, like totally happening, you guys! The effervescent musical based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon hits the Hobby Center stage with a message about staying true to yourself and never letting others define who you are. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Wolf Play at the Rec Room | Thursday, April 6 | Ongoing – In this wildly theatrical play, desires and decisions collide in unexpected ways, and a child finds himself on a lone wolf’s quest to discover who he is meant to be. $10 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Artrageous at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, April 7 | FREE – Watch as artists create large-scale masterpieces before your very eyes, set to exciting music and captivating choreography. This multidisciplinary show celebrates the arts with a visual journey punctuated with passionate energy from the assembled artists, singers, dancers and musicians that make Artrageous come alive. 8pm.
  • Houston Symphony presents Mozart, Farrenc & Haydn at Jones Hall | Friday, April 7 & Saturday, April 8 – Concertmaster Yoonshin Song performs violin with members of the Symphony for an Easter weekend of works from legendary composers. $29 and up. 8pm.
  • Houston’s Got Bollywood: Jashn at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, April 8 | FREE – The style and energy of Bollywood comes to the Bayou City in this explosive performance that tracks the genre’s history. Expect high energy, brilliant color and that unmistakable Bollywood vibe. 8pm.

Final Performances This Week

This week markes the final chance to see the Music Box Theater Cabaret in their current location before the move to Memorial City; catch The Greatest Hits Album: Side A through Saturday, April 8. Plus, The Book of Mary closes at MATCH on Sunday, April 9.
