Houston comes alive at night, with dives, cocktail bars, and nightclubs dotting the city. In our Houston Nightlife: Best Bars, we’ll cover the best night owl watering holes in each neighborhood.
Just 28 miles north of Downtown, The Woodlands were originally planned as a suburban development for commuters working in the big city, established in 1974.
With the introduction of major corporations, parks and town centers, its own River Walk, and plenty of dining, bars, and retail shopping, it’s one of the buzziest destinations in the Greater Houston area today.
Join its energetic nightlife scene by popping into these top Woodlands bars:
The Best Bars in The Woodlands

Blend Bar
Flush with wood, leathers and exotic fabrics, it’s all class at sophisticated cigar and bourbon spot Blend Bar.
Head here to linger over cigars and cigarillos from Davidoff and other prestigious brands, all selected from the walk-in humidor; and make the night even more leisurely by tacking on bourbon, rye, scotch, wines, and bubbles alongside cheeseboards and Italian charcuterie platters.
Como Social Club
Overlooking the Woodlands Waterway, the sleek Como Social Club is where the social set goes to party (there’s even a retro-vintage Italian Vespa for photo ops).
It’s set at the poolside bar and terrace at The Westin at The Woodlands, open every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm to 2am and featuring live music and signature cocktails like the Aprecello—an Aperol Spritz riff made with housemade limoncello.
Kirby Ice House
Popular inner loop watering hole Kirby Ice House took its friendly concept to The Woodlands Waterway District, just a hop from popular attractions like the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and Market Street.
The colossal venue rocks 10,000 square feet indoors and 18,000 square feet of outdoor space, with a jumbo screen and oversized HDTVs for games, 51 rotating beer taps plus cocktails and wine, and a lively atmosphere with yard games, food trucks, and fun.
Local Pour
Unwind with a local beer, glass of wine, or craft cocktail (from the gin and honeysuckle Texan 75 to the sour and citrusy LP Frozen Margarita) at neighborhood hotspot Local Pour.
And while you’re at it, add on bites like Fried Deviled Eggs, Brisket Queso, and Tamale Pops.
The local hangout is also popular with the after-work crowd thanks to daily happy hour specials, including Old Fashioned Wednesdays and Martini Thursdays.
Rose Rooftop
The pink drinks flow at rooftop bar, restaurant and lounge Rose Rooftop, set in the former Crush Wine Bar space on Waterway Square and rocking skyline views, cozy seating, vibey lighting, and good times.
Pair your Strawberry Limoncello, Rose Old Fashioned, or Brut Rosé with shareable flatbreads, ceviche, and charcuterie; and keep the party going with some hookah.
The sultry lounge also hosts specials from DJ and Ladies Nights to Thirsty Thursdays.
