Grab your seat for the world’s greatest drama as Houston’s Classical Theatre Company presents William Shakespeare’s classic play at the Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex from Wednesday, September 11 through Saturday, September 29, 2013.
Hamlet is filled with intrigue, incest, obsession, violence, and humor are all on display in Shakespeare’s crowning achievement.
The Classical Theatre Company is mounting a full production of the play, one-upping the group’s earlier one-man adaptation of the play.
After learning of the death of his father, the Danish king, Hamlet comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and installed on the throne. At night, the ghost of the old king demands that Hamlet avenge his “foul and most unnatural murder.” This vision sets in motion a drama that few works of literature can rival, let alone surpass.
Houstonian actor Matthew Keenan stars as Hamlet himself and the play is directed by John “JJ” Johnston .
