- Galveston Steampunk Festival at Galveston Railroad Museum | Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 – Fans of the steampunk aesthetic will assemble for this three-day fest celebrating the sci-fi subgenre that crosses Victorian-era tech with retrofuturism. Throughout Saturday, fans can take in live music and special performances, participate in a costume contest and enjoy games like archery, axe throwing and more. - Kite Festival in Hermann Park | Sunday, April 7 | FREE – Held at the Miller Hill and Jones Reflection Pool, Hermann Park Conservancy’s annual Kite Festival invites the community to enjoy a day of fun and kite-flying in the park. The parade starts at 2pm, though it’s best to show up early if you want a prime viewing spot.
