ROCO In Concert: Shadows Livestream

Saturday, February 27, 2021 | 5:00 pm

Free

River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) explores the interplay of light and dark in Shadows, built around a commission by Alyssa Morris, “Tlapalli Tlahuilli”. The work is based on the children’s book Musicians of the Sun and features ROCO’s principal winds soloists, with special narration by members of the Calmecac Indigenous Arts Organization.

Led by conductor Ward Stare in his ROCO debut, and streaming live from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the concert also features Patrick Harlin’s “Shadow Dancer,” Haydn’s “Symphony No. 101,” “The Clock”, and violinist Maureen Nelson in Luigi Dallapiccola’s Baroque-inspired work, “Tartiniana Seconda.”

Watch

The performance is free and will debut live on ROCO’s website. Watch the livestream performance or get more information.

Once the performance has aired, it will remain viewable on ROCO’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
