River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) presents the kickoff of this season’s Connections seres, with a world premiere commission of “Coming Forth by Day”—by composer and recording producer Kerwin Young—for oboe, viola, cello, and baritone.

Taking its inspiration from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, the work depicts the journey of the soul, through seven miniatures. Featured ROCO musicians will include Alecia Lawyer on oboe, Lorento Golofeev on viola, Shino Hayashi on cello, and Timothy Jones on baritone.
