Galveston Lighthouse Productions presents its inaugural production of Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp through the Cotton Patch, written by Ossie Davis, at Old Central Cultural Center.

The satirical work promises to captivate audiences and spark meaningful conversations about civil rights.

Written by acclaimed playwright Ossie Davis, Purlie Victorious follows the journey of Purlie Victorious Judson, a Black self-made traveling preacher, as he returns to his segregated Georgia hometown with a bold mission: to buy and rehabilitate its derelict church, Big Bethel.
