Lights in the Heights in the Woodlands Heights (Canceled)
Saturday, December 12, 2020 | 5:00 pm to 9:00 pmFree
Update 10/7/20: The in-person Lights in the Heights event has been canceled for 2020 due to precautions and concerns about gathering large crowds together during the pandemic. However, 2020 Lights in the Heights merchandise is still available and can be found in the Woodland Heights online store.
Bask in the Christmas spirit and take in the beautifully decorated homes of the Woodland Heights while enjoying holiday musical performers on front porches.
Due to congestions of the surrounding streets, arriving by ride-sharing services is strongly recommended.
Public vs. Private Events at Lights in the Heights
Given large crowds and disorderly behavior several years ago, the neighborhood association has continued to try scaling down event, preferring it to be a neighborhood-only occasion. However, with the closure of public city streets, it remains an event that anyone can attend.
Many homes along those streets and nearby will be hosting their own private parties on their lawns and in their homes. As always, those remain private, but the general public is free to visit and take in the atmosphere from the streets and sidewalks.
Please respect private property and spirit of the neighborhood.
Homes in the Woodland Heights remain decorated throughout December and can be viewed any night of the month by car or by foot on the sidewalks.
The small neighborhood roads get very congested quickly, so driving yourself is not recommended. You’ll likely regret taking your car into the Woodland Heights neighborhood and we strongly recommend taking a ride-sharing service.
This year, the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association is offering merchandise and sponsorships to help defray the costs of operating this popular event.
