Juneteenth Houston kicks off the Juneteenth season with the free, family-friendly Celebrate Freedom Fest 2025 at Emancipation Park in Third Ward.

Everyone is welcome at this festival brings together 7 historic Black communities in Houston—Independence Heights, Fourth Ward, Third Ward, Fifth Ward, Sunnyside, Acres Homes, and South Park—to celebrate the richness of Black culture, pay homage to Juneteenth pioneers, and more.

There will be live music, performances by Ensemble Theatre and Houston Grand Opera, a vendor markets, kids zone, food trucks, drinks, fellowship, and more events, activities, and activations—leading up to an opening ceremony to kick off the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth celebrations in Houston.
