Part of the free Jazzy Sundays in the Parks series, Discovery Green presents a concert by Lady Blackbird, whose soaring, cinematic voice embodies freedom and transformation.

Since her critically acclaimed 2021 debut Black Acid Soul, she’s captivated audiences with a sound that spans jazz, soul, gospel, rock, and pop. In her album, Slang Spirituals, Lady Blackbird takes her artistry to new heights, weaving deeply personal lyrics into a powerful soundtrack of self-acceptance and resilience.

Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra opens the show.

Jazzy Sundays in the Parks concerts will continue at Discovery Green on Sundays throughout April, and conclude after concerts at Buffalo Bayou Park on most Sundays in May.
