The Best Little Drive-In in HTX presents a drive-in screening of Get On Up (2014), chronicling James Brown’s journey from extreme poverty to becoming one of the most influential musicians in history.
The weekly and socially-distanced drive-in movie experience, located at Raven Tower, continues its series of movies inspired by legendary musicians and music culture.
The weekly and socially distanced drive-in has moved to Raven Tower, expanding the drive-in’s capacity.
Spaces are available for 36 vehicles per screening. Raven Tower will serve popcorn, candy, and alcoholic beverages directly to your car.
There are two screenings of the film, at 6:45pm and 10pm. Attendees should arrive 30 minutes prior to the movie start time. New titles will be presented every weekend.
Get On Up
Get on Up is an American biographical musical drama film about the life of singer James Brown. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Chadwick Boseman as Brown, Nelsan Ellis, Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, Craig Robinson, and Octavia Spencer.
Social Distancing & COVID-19 Precautions
Attendees will remain in their cars throughout the presentation, with a special program set-up for using the restrooms. Face masks are required at all times when outside of vehicles.
Businesses in Houston have opened under modified protocols, following guidelines administered by local health officials, the State of Texas and CDC. At this time, guidance from experts urges people to continue wearing face masks when in public spaces, practice social distancing of at least six feet, limit your touching of surfaces and frequently use hand sanitizer or soap and water to keep your hands clean.
