Dine Out for Charity on Galveston Island

Monday, September 21, 2020 to Sunday, October 11, 2020

Texas Restaurant Association’s Galveston Chapter and Galveston Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) present a 21-day Dine Out for Charity event, featuring special meals with charitable donations built into the prices.

Each of the 30 participating restaurants will feature three lunch and three dinner options that automatically include a charitable donation to one of several local community nonprofits. Donations will range from $1 to $5, depending on the restaurant.

The program is an opportunity for visitors to visit the Island, have a great culinary adventure, and continue to support the community just as they would have by attending fall festivals that have been canceled due to the pandemic.

Participating Restaurants

Benefiting Local Charities

The chosen charities all focus on feeding, supporting, and providing for the health of children and families in Galveston County.

The beneficiaries will be The Grand 1894 Opera House, Galveston County Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, Resource Crisis Center, Family Service Center, and Teen Health Center.

Social Distancing & COVID-19

Businesses in Houston have opened under modified protocols, following guidelines administered by local health officials, the State of Texas and CDC. At this time, guidance from experts urges people to continue wearing face masks when in public spaces, practice social distancing of at least six feet, limit your touching of surfaces and frequently use hand sanitizer or soap and water to keep your hands clean.

Before heading out, take time to familiarize with your destination’s requirements or restrictions at this moment, and be sure to contact them ahead of time with any questions or concerns.
