Central Market celebrates Black History Month with a series of virtual Cooking School classes featuring three notable Black chefs—Chef Chris Williams of Lucille’s in Houston, headliner Chef Marcus Samuelsson who wrote The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food, and Chef Tiffany Derry of Roots Chicken Shak in North Texas.
- Wednesday, February 10 | Chef Chris Williams – Learn how to make dishes including Williams’ roasted lamb chops with Senegalese peanut sauce. 6:30pm to 8pm.
- Thursday, February 25 | Chef Tiffany Derry – Follow along with Chef Derry to make crispy chicken with roasted garlic-lemon sauce. 6:30pm to 8pm.
- Friday, March 5 | Chef Marcus Samuelsson – Chef Samuelsson teaches you how to make Sunday roast chicken with chickpeas and couscous. 6pm to 7pm.
$10 virtual class only; $70 to $110 for the virtual class plus an ingredient kit available for pick-up. Get more information.
