Saturday, August 15, 2020 | 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Free

Accompanying its month-long exhibition, Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is hosting a five-part livestream panel discussion that examines different aspects of Black Art and its use in activism, abstraction and the local scene.

This fifth and final livestream panel discussion examines the importance and resilience of Houston’s Black cultural organizations over the years, and how they interact with today’s social and political climate.

Moderated by John Guess, chief executive officer for the Houston Museum of African American Culture, the panel will also include artist Vicki Meek, Eileen Morris of the Ensemble Theatre, and Harrison Guy of Urban Souls Dance Company.

This event will be held online via MFAH’s website, where you can also view a full slate of virtual programming associated with Soul of a Nation, including previous panel discussions.
