Savor the delicious flavors of The Billy F Gibbons – Whisker Bomb Po’ Boy—created by the renowned guitarist, singer and ZZ Top founder and Chef Alex Padilla—now available at Antone’s Famous Po’ BoysGalleria and Greater Heights locations through Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Houston’s beloved sandwich shop has rolled out its latest and final “H-Town Original” sandwich, combing forces with ZZ Top founder, frontman and acclaimed guitarist and singer to create a one-of-kind sandwich.

The Billy F Gibbons – Whisker Bomb Po’ Boy consists of buttermilk-dipped fried green tomatoes, harissa, chipotle mayo, Billy F Gibbons’ Whisker Bomb Have Mercy Sauce, goat cheese, a mix of spices, and arugula served on a warm french bread at both Antone’s full-service locations for $9.95. 

A portion of all sales will be donated to support the Austin-based Clifford Antone Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving music culture and community by caring for elders and investing in youth. Gibbons chose foundation as the beneficiary due to his deep ties to Antone’s Nightclub in Austin, where he frequently headlines.

The Billy F Gibbons – Whisker Bomb Po’ Boy sandwich will be featured on Antone’s menus through Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

“H-Town Originals” at Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys

The “H-Town Originals” series from Antone’s features a sandwich created by a local celebrity, with partial proceeds from the sale of their sandwich benefiting and raising awareness of a favorite charity of their choice.

Past installments include signature sandwich items by pandemic expert Dr. Peter Hotez; Houston Ballet prima ballerina Lauren Anderson; Houston Texans All-Pro linebacker Whitney Mercilus; rapper Bun B; and more.

About Billy F Gibbons

A native Houstonian, Billy F Gibbons is an American rock guitarist and singer and founder of ZZ Top. Gibbons began his career with the Moving Sidewalks group touring with the Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1968. Gibbons formed ZZ Top in late 1969 and released ZZ Top’s First Album in early 1971.

Gibbons possesses a gravelly singing voice and is known for his bluesy, groove-based guitar style as well-being noted for his chest-length beard.

 Rolling Stone placed him inside its list of “100 Greatest Guitarists” of all time.
