In our Park Spotlight series, we take a closer look at Houston’s vast array of public recreational areas to shine a light on hidden and not so hidden gems. This week we’ll be spotlighting T.C. Jester Park. Join us as we take a trip through Houston, park by park.

Located in the largely residential Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area, T.C. Jester Park serves as the area’s lush neighborhood park with plenty of tree-shaded spots to picnic and other useful amenities for kids and adults alike.

Pet owners can feel free to bring their pups to check out the small dog park which stays busy with plenty of other pups for yours to play with.

If you or the family are looking to work up a sweat, hit up the 21-hole disc golf course, biking and jogging trails, sports fields or playground for the kiddos.

Be sure to cool off afterward at the community pool or splash pads, which stay open from Memorial Day to Labor Day from Tuesday to Sunday. And those looking for a nice long bike and running trail can connect to the White Oak Bayou Trail right from the park.

Before You Visit

Though the park is open from dawn to dusk 7-days-a-week and is generally lax, there are a few rules worth noting.

All animals must be on a leash and under the direct control of its owner when outside of the designated dog park. Owners are asked to please clean up after their dogs.

Glass bottles/containers and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
