Kick off the Year of the Rooster at the 2017 Lunar New Year Festival

Get yourself to the free, crowd-pleasing 2017 Lunar New Year Festival, filled with Asian foods, music, and more at the Chinese Community Center on Saturday, January 28, 2017.

Featuring musical and dance performances from local groups, vendors offering art, games, food and prizes, activities for children, and raffles for high dollar prizes, this free cultural event is the perfect chance  to ring in the Year of the Rooster in a time-honored way.

Performances

Stop by the stage for performances from more than 20 various cultural groups and local organizations throughout the day, including the ever-popular lion and dragon dances.

Expect a full day of unique cultural performances from China, Vietnam, Korea, and India, cultural exhibits, workshops and more.

Asian Bazaar

An outdoor bazaar will be filled with rows of vendors offering Asian food, art, crafts, and more than 60 raffle prizes waiting to be won, amongst other goods.

Guests will have the opportunity to try more than a dozen unique Asian foods like Vietnamese street-style ham, Chinese barbecue octopus skewer, steamed tapioca cake, and tea stewed eggs.

Make sure to bring cash for food and raffle tickets as there are over $10,000 in prizes including, a cruise trip for two, a Samsung Smart HDTV, two Houston Rockets home game tickets, and a round-trip airline ticket for the grand prize winner. For the Kids

Kiddos will love participating in calligraphy and lantern-making, playing interactive games, checking out educational cultural displays, and getting their faces painted.
