Enjoy fresh and delicious gulf coast dining at legendary Houston restaurant mainstay Tony Mandola’s.
Styled after a French Quarter bistro with an Italian spin and some Mexican spices, Tony Mandola’s offers a showcase of seafood and gulf coast cuisine. The restaurant is owned by Tony and Phyllis Mandola and many of the dishes are based on the original recipes of their mothers, Grace Mandola and Ninfa Rodriguez Laurenzo. In their respective lifetimes, both ladies played critical roles in shaping dining in Houston and beyond.
Today, Tony Mandola’s menu is extensive and popular dishes include blackened catfish etouffée, Mama’s shrimp and crabmeat spaghetti, and Mama’s gumbo. While seafood may be the specialty, you’ll find many inspired pasta dishes, pizzas, beef and chicken entrees, and more. The restaurant also offers an extensive happy hour on weekdays afternoons until 6pm, with discounts on delectable plates and beer, wine and cocktails.
Although Tony Mandola’s has been a staple in Houston dining for more than three decades, the restaurant only settled into this bright and crisp permanent location in the summer of 2011. The move represented the realization of the Mandolas’ dream of owning their restaurant in a freestanding location. Bright and airy by day, ambient and upscale by night, their new upscale venue belies the warm and casual friendliness of the proprietors and their staff.
