Top 10 Things to Do with Kids this Week in Houston
- 37th Annual Original MLK Birthday Parade in Downtown or 22nd Annual MLK Grande Parade in Midtown | Monday, January 18 | FREE – Pick your preferred parade honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for his birthday. Both parades are free to watch and start at 10am.
- Children’s Museum MLK Celebration | Monday, January 18 – Drop into the museum for the Peach March and other MLK Day activities with a special $5 admission. 10am to 6pm.
- The Ice at Discovery Green | Daily – Try out ice skating at Discovery Green. Here even the youngest kids can join in on the fun at the small toddler rink. $14. Hours vary.
- Commit to be Fit: Free Family Thursday at the Health Museum | Thursday, January 21 | FREE – Embrace health and fitness in 2016 with activities including Zumba, exercise tips and more. 2pm to 7pm.
- Wild Kratts Live at Revention Music Center | Friday, January 22 – Catch an interactive show featuring Chris and Martin Kratt of the popular PBS Kids’ show Wild Kratts. Tickets start at $27, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 6:30pm.
- Astros Fan Fest at Minute Maid Park | Saturday, January 23 | FREE with RSVP – Get ready for baseball season with Astros Fan Fest. You can go on the field, run the bases, throw some pitches and more. The event is free with an RSVP. 10am to 2pm.
- Super Saturday at the Downtown Aquarium | Saturday, January 23 – Buy admission to the aquarium and get a second admission free if you print and use the coupon. $18.99 for two people with coupon. 10am to 10:30pm.
- Arbor Day at the Houston Arboretum | Saturday, January 23 | FREE – Celebrate trees at an event filled with demos, activities and crafts. Plus there will be seedlings to plant in your yard. 10am to 2pm.

Brown Convention Center | Saturday, January 23 and Sunday, January 24 – Get inspired, educated and entertained as you participate in hands-on building attractions and shop the largest variety of LEGO-themed merchandise under one roof. $29; limited discounted $19 tickets available. 10am to 6pm both days.
