  • 23rd Annual Shriners Children’s College Classic at Minute Maid Park | Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5 – The Annual Astros Foundation tradition is back for its 23rd installment as Louisville, Michigan, Rice, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and TCU take the field for a nine-game tournament across the weekend. $20 and up; tickets are good for all three games that day. A 3-day pass starts at $45. 11am to 9pm.
  • Comedian Stavros Halkias at Houston Improv | Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5 – Gracing the stages of the New York Comedy Festival and clubs across the country, the stand-up comic and podcast host hits up the Spring Branch comedy club for a weekend of laughs. $140 for 4, and up. Times vary.
  • Houston Holi: Festival of Colors at BH Ranch | Saturday, March 4 – From Masala Radio comes the city’s—if not one of the country’s—biggest Holi festivals, featuring a live concert by Rap Star Bali, plus Bollywood dancing, color play, DJs spinning tunes, dhol players, street foods, free carnival rides, giveaways and more. Early bird tickets are $12; $15 at the gates; free for ages 4 and under. 11am to 5pm.
  • Heights Crawfish Festival at Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church | Saturday, March 4 | No Cover – The Greater Heights Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back its annual Crawfish Festival, a family-friendly event featuring local shops and vendors, a Kids World, live Zydeco music, an Idol of the Heights contest, cold beer, and tasty crawfish. 11am to 6pm.
  • Holi Supper by Chef Anita Jaisinghani at Pondicheri | Saturday, March 4 – The Upper Kirby restaurant hosts a special Holi supper by Chef Anita Jaisinghani, with several courses served in communal seating, highlighted by experimental menu options punctuated by rich, spicy notes and featuring flora and fauna of the local area. Reservations are $5; $75 per person. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian Katie Boyle at the Secret Group | Saturday, March 4 – The hilarious comedian all the way from Ireland is bringing her signature bits on American culture, dating and shame down South to the Secret Group. $20 and up. 8pm.

  • New Beginnings Spring Festival at Museum of Fine Arts Houston | Sunday, March 5 | FREE – Heralding the opening of the New Galleries for Art of the Islamic Worlds at MFAH, this free afternoon festival celebrates spring and the festive traditions from across the Middle East and Asia. Enjoy music and dance performances, poetry, food from local vendors, art activities and more. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Pup Crawl & Pet Expo at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Sunday, March 5 – Take your furry friend on a walk through the Arboretum, stopping by four beer stations along the way and interacting with local pet vendors. Each registration will score you a commemorative pint glass, and if you’re looking, BARC will be on-site to send you home with a new friend. $35 for 21+; free for ages under 21 and non-drinkers. 3pm to 6pm.
  • Jazzy Sundays: Robert Glasper in Concert at Emancipation Park | Sunday, March 5 | FREE – The opening concert of this weekly, city-wide jazz series will see Grammy- and Emmy-winning jazz artist Robert Glasper take the stage for a free show in Third Ward, joined by Hutson Percussion in support. 5pm to 7pm.
  • Buddy Guy in Concert at 713 Music Hall | Sunday, March 5 – The living legend, sacred relic of American Blues, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and one of your favorite guitarist’s biggest influences, Buddy Guy is gracing Houston’s stage for what could be the last time ever when he comes through on his Damn Right Farewell tour. $69 and up. 8pm.
