Returning to Space Center Houston for 2023, the Moon 2 Mars Festival spans the week of Spring Break and features insightful deep dives into the technology that powers our space exploration, as well as headlining weekend concerts from critically-acclaimed bands and Grammy-winning artists to close out the festivities.

Held alongside the Space City attractions that locals and tourists know and love, the Moon 2 Mars Festival offers an expanded visit to the signature Houston destination, showcasing the historic upcoming Artemis missions and the dawn of a new space age—all while rocking out to otherworldly musicians.

The Music of Moon 2 Mars

Wrapping up the Moon 2 Mars Festival in style, musicians will take the outdoor stage from Thursday, March 16 through Sunday, March 19, offering four nights of classic rock tunes and singalong hits to get crowds grooving.

Highlights of the weekend include the jangly alt-rock of Sister Hazel on Friday; the Grammy Award–winning rock guitarist known for his No. 1 hit, “Jessie’s Girl,” Rick Springfield and his band on Saturday; and to cap it all off, the Austin-based Bidi Bidi Banda brings the Tejano hits of Selena to the stage on Sunday.

Exploring Space & A New Frontier

All week long, the Moon 2 Mars Festival will be celebrating the innovative technologies that allow for programs like NASA’s Artemis missions, which will land the first woman and first person of color on the surface of the moon in the coming years.

Visitors can get a glimpse of cutting-edge space technology by diving into virtual reality activities, plus they’ll have an opportunity to meet with NASA astronauts and start a training crash course in the Future Astronaut Training Kid’s Zone.

Tickets to the Moon 2 Mars Festival will also include access to Space Center Houston’s main exhibition halls, so you can take full advantage of your out-of-this-world trip by exploring many of the museum’s notable exhibits and booking a tram tour while on campus.
