  • Dita Von Teese: Glamonatrix at Bayou Music Center – The old-Hollywood glam legend and noted “Queen of Burlesque,” Dita Von Teese brings her Glamonatrix tour to the Bayou City. $39.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Drink & Learn at Brennan’s of Houston – Grab a drink and get to learning as New Orleans Drink Historian, Elizabeth Pearce, hosts this entertaining and informative Drink & Learn event about Prohibition-era beverages at the classy and intimate Texas Creole eatery. $85. 6pm.
  • Comedian Atsuko Okatsuka at Houston Improv – The co-founder of Dis/orient/ed Comedy, America’s first Asian American comedy stand-up tour, takes over Spring Branch with hilarious off-kilter jokes and anecdotes sure to split some sides. Starts at $40 for 2 people. 7:30pm.
  • Teddi Tuesday Live Podcast Show at Rise Rooftop – H-Town’s most popular live podcast continues its weekly Midtown residency, along with DJ tunes, food trucks, and more community celebration. $10 in advance; $20 day of show. Doors at 8pm; show at 8:30pm.
  • Drag Queen Karaoke at Pearl Bar Houston | No Cover – The Lesbian-centric LGBTQ+ bar on Washington Avenue hosts an evening of live tunes ands sassy ‘tudes. 9pm to 1am; sign ups start at 8pm.

  • Comedian Asif Ali at Houston Improv – Recently cast in films like Don’t Worry Darling, Easter Sunday with Jo Koy, and featured on Comedy Central and beyond, Asif Ali brings a trademark stage personality to the Improv, dishing tales that draw on his East Indian background and lived experiences. Tickets are sold by the table; $40 for 2, and up. 7:30pm. 
  • The Moth Houston GrandSlam at The Heights Theater – Ten Houston StorySlam winners take to the GrandSlam stage on Historic 19th Street for the ultimate storytelling competition. 8pm.
  • Brew & Groove at No Label Brewing Co.| No Cover – The beloved Katy brewery hosts a market packed with 40+ local vendors, plus live music, craft beer (natch), and more. 2pm to 7pm.

Thursday, January 26, 2023

  • Country Music & Steak Night Thursday at Now or Never | No Cover – Midtown’s newest spot is making a name for itself and inviting everyone out to a country music and steak night featuring steaks from Meat Therapy; starting at 6pm until sold out, steaks will be $25 for 12-oz ribeyes, $20 6-oz filets, and $20 for a half rack of ribs. All include two sides. 4pm to 12:30am.
  • Drag Bingo at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | No Cover – The Shady Acres brewery has got your number at Drag Bingo night, featuring Dessie Love-Blake calling the balls while you sip craft brews. Daubers can be purchased for $2. 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • January Nerdy Market at Neils Bahr | No Cover – The EaDo bar serving up video games, comics and beloved pop culture hosts their monthly market with vendors doling out Funko Pops, Pokemon toys and cards, modern and vintage toys, and more. 6pm to 11:45pm.
  • P1Harmony in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The K-pop six-piece hits up Houston on the heels of their late-2022 EP release, Harmony: Set In. $59.50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Amy Winehouse: Jazz Under the Stars at POST Houston –Take in the views from atop Post’s Skylawn at this tribute to the iconic songstress, Amy Winehouse. $55. 8pm to 9:30pm.
  • Latin Thursday Night at Social Beer Garden | No Cover – Grab a drink and get those hips ready to work because Social Beer Garden is playing all the Merengue, Cumbia, and even Salsa combined with hip-hop. 8pm.
  • Dark Disko: VJ Rob & Bewitched DJs at Etro Nightclub| No Cover – Get an early start on the weekend at Etro where VJ Rob & Bewitched DJs will be spinning everything from Italo Disco to New Wave, Dark Wave, and more. 9pm to 2am.
  • Taco Tequila Thursday at Bauhaus | No Cover – Enjoy half price tacos, half price top shelf Tequila, $5 margaritas, and house music at the Thursday night dance party. 10pm to 2am.
