  • Vampire Weekend in Concert at 713 Music Hall | Thursday, June 6 – Fresh off the release of Only God Was Above Us, Vampire Weekend brings their jangly pop melodies to the Downtown venue while embarking on a 45-city tour through North America. $34 and up. 7pm.
  • Opening Night: The Big Show 2024 at Lawndale Art Center | Friday, June 7 | FREE – The annual show turns 40, gathering works by 90 artists practicing within a 100-mile radius of Lawndale. 5pm to 7pm.
  • Near Dark: A Black Light Art Show at Hardy & Nance Studios | Friday, June 7 | FREE – This annual glow show features work by local artists in all–black light sensitive pieces, along with complimentary drinks and good vibes. 7pm to 11pm.
  • LIV Golf Houston at Golf Club of Houston | Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 9 – The LIV Golf Tournament comes to Houston to kick off its final stage, including two home town players. The tourney is known for its fun and lively atmosphere and there are many hospitality options and packages available. Stick around after the golf on Saturday for a live concert by Macklemore. $46.98 and up; free tickets available for ages 12 and under. 10am to 6pm each day.
  • Galveston Island Revue Weekend Around Galveston | Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 9 | Some FREE – The island launches into the summer season with the 16th edition of celebration inspired by classic beach parties of the past, complete with classic cars, vintage vendors, live music, and the crowd-favorite old-timey Bathing Beauties Contest in Saengerfest Park on Saturday evening. The main event, the Bathing Beauties Contest, on Saturday is free to all, and is surrounded by a series of lively ticketed events throughout the weekend. Bathing Beauties Contest on Saturday is 5pm to 9pm.
  • World Ocean Day Festival at East Beach | Saturday, June 8 – Spend the day discovering, learning and experiencing how to be a part of the solution to keep pollution out of the ocean. Enjoy hands-on activities on the beach, along with art workshops, Bucket Brigade tours, and live entertainment. 11am to 4:30pm.   
  • 2-Year Party at Basket Books & Art | Saturday, June 8 | FREE – Celebrate with this Montrose neighborhood bookstore for their second anniversary by finding a bevy of choices for all types of readers during a day-long party. 11am to 7pm.

  • Vegan Day Party at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. | Saturday, June 8 | FREE – Sample some mouthwatering vegan dishes and refreshing drinks at the Heights brewery. Vendors will serve up Caribbean-inspired vegan creations, plus you can enjoy live entertainment, limbo and hula hoop contests, a live DJ and more. Noon to 6pm.
  • 30th Anniversary Party at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Saturday, June 8 – The oldest craft brewery in Texas is celebrating 30 years of beers with an all-day birthday bash. The festival will feature several marquee musical acts from the Bayou City collaborating for the first time, including Kam Franklin, Devin the Dude, Robert Ellis and Fat Tony—plus food and beverages throughout the day, as well as commemorative glassware and throwback merch. $15 and up. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Houston SaberCats vs. RFC Los Angeles at SaberCats Stadium | Saturday, June 8 – The top team in Major League Rugby, our very own SaberCats, celebrate 713 in one of their final home games of the year. Come out to see them play in special Houston blue jerseys, and cheer them on to another victory. $15 and up. 7pm. 
  • Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood Movie Screening at the Menil Collection | Saturday, June 8 | FREE – Come by for an outdoor screening of Richard Linklater’s animated coming-of-age comedy-drama set during the events preceding the Apollo 11 moon landing, loosely based on the director’s childhood. 7:30pm.
  • Tango, Joropo, Danzas y Mas at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, June 8 | FREE – The Hermann Park stage hosts a free night of exhilarating sounds inspired by Caribbean folk songs and dances, Indigenous Brazilian legends, Argentinian tango and Venezuelan joropo. Houston-based Aperio ensemble backs up acclaimed soloists Ernesto Vega, Pablo Estigarribia and Eddy Marcano. 8:30pm.

  • Markets for Makers: Spring Market at Post Houston | Saturday, June 8 & Sunday, June 9 – Shopping while supporting local and small businesses is easy to do here with over 90 vendors specializing in home decor, fashion, art, design, food and more in a fun and inspiring environment that champions community. $8 and up. 11am to 5pm. 
  • Galveston Family Beach Challenge at Stewart Beach | Sunday, June 9 | FREE – The family fun competition returns for a new summer, with a beachside course featuring 14 stations designed for anyone over the age of 8 to participate, with a chance to win up to $2,000 in prizes. 11am.
  • Back to the Future Dinner at Feges BBQ Spring Branch | Sunday, June 9 – The Feges outpost in Spring Branch will host as some of Houston’s favorite chefs collab at the epic Back to the Future Dinner, including Chris Shepherd, Patrick Feges, Erin Smith, Lyle Bento, Ryan Lachaine, Victoria Dearmond, JD Woodward, and Chris Bednorz. In a family-style setting, the chefs will prepare a nostalgia-kissed menu with wine and beverage selections hand-picked by Matthew Pridgen. $200. 5pm.
  • USPA NYTS Tournament at Houston Polo Club | Sunday, June 9 – Close out the spring season with a doubleheader world class polo match complete with bites from The Lymbar, a premium bar menu, player parade, Champagne divot stomp, special trophy presentation and live music. $18 to $40. 5:30pm.
