  • Hairspray at Hobby Center | Daily Set in 1960s Baltimore, this Broadway hit sees 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad living big dreams with even bigger hair as the world faces turmoil amidst dance competitions. Don’t miss this beloved score of hit songs. $35 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Galveston Ballet Presents: The Wizard of Oz at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Thursday & Friday – Follow the yellow brick road to Oz with Dorothy and the gang as they journey through thick and thin to get back home in this all-time classic tale. $28. 6pm. 
  • The Barricade Boys in Concert at Hobby Center | Thursday & Friday – It’s the ultimate musical mashup with the sounds of Broadway hits like Les Misérables and Jersey Boys, plus a mix of the greatest pop, rock, swing and Motown hits of all time. $54 and up. Thursday 7pm; Friday 7:30pm. 
  • 20th Annual Wine & Food Week in the Woodlands | Thursday to Saturday – Actually kicking off on Wednesday, June 5, Wine & Food Week celebrates 20 years with a week of individual gastronomic delights and culinary events. Weekend highlights include Get Frosted at Rosé Way on Thursday, Sip, Suds and Savor on Friday, and capped off by the Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase on Saturday. Prices and times vary.
  • Houston Ballet presents Four Seasons at Wortham Center | Thursday, Saturday & Sunday – This mixed rep program showcases the ballet’s depth of artistry. Four dances, including Tchaikovsky’s Pas de Deux and the world premiere of choreographer Dwight Rhoden’s The Four Seasons, set to the recognizable music of Antonio Vivaldi highlight the program. $45 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • LIV Golf Houston at Golf Club of Houston | Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 9 – The LIV Golf Tournament comes to Houston to kick off its final stage, including two home town players. The tourney is known for its fun and lively atmosphere and there are many hospitality options and packages available. Stick around after the golf on Saturday for a live concert by Macklemore. $46.98 and up; free tickets available for ages 12 and under. 10am to 6pm each day.
  • Galveston Island Revue Weekend Around Galveston | Friday to Sunday | Some FREE – The island launches into the summer season with the 16th edition of celebration inspired by classic beach parties of the past, complete with classic cars, vintage vendors, live music, and the crowd-favorite old-timey Bathing Beauties Contest in Saengerfest Park on Saturday evening. The main event, the Bathing Beauties Contest, on Saturday is free to all, and is surrounded by a series of lively ticketed events throughout the weekend. Bathing Beauties Contest on Saturday is 5pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian JR De Guzman at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday The Filipino born, California entertainer, named one of Variety’s Ten Comics of 2022, comes to the Spring Branch comedy club for a weekend of laughs. $54 for 2 people and up. Times vary
  • Houston Symphony presents Strauss Festival: Salome in Concert at Jones Hall | Friday & Sunday – Considered a scandalous show when it premiered in the 1890s, Salome features an explosive score and erotically-charged plot and will mark one of the biggest concert productions in Houston Symphony history. With stunning projections, stylized costumes, theatrical lighting and staging elements, the concert is headlined by world-renowned soprano Jennifer Holloway and a star-studded cast. $34 and up. Friday 8pm; Sunday 7pm.
  • ThriftCon Houston 2024 at NRG Center | Saturday & Sunday Vintage and collectibles from the ’70s to the 2000s are up for discovery from more than 140 vendors, so come ready to buy, sell and trade. $14 and up; free for ages 12 and under. 10am to 5pm. 
  • Markets for Makers: Spring Market at Post Houston | Saturday & Sunday – Shopping while supporting local and small businesses is easy to do here with over 90 vendors specializing in home decor, fashion, art, design, food and more in a fun and inspiring environment that champions community. $8 and up. 11am to 5pm.
